Came here after getting 149.4.23 wrong. Did not find the answer explanation as to why C over B helpful. Came here. Also not helpful, as the difference between subsets/supersets and conditional logic is key in that answer choice and I need more help understanding. Revamping and making this lesson more thorough would be helpful. #feedback
Confused as to why in "B" JY considers Cray Springs a subset of Bidmore Hotels but does not consider "last year" as a subset of times Carriage Books has sold books... Couldn't you just as easily say for the stimulus that N→E/E(ly)//N(ly), which would make "B" correct? #help #feedback
Thought explanation was a little too complicated. I don't think it is necessary or prudent win timed conditions to translate to conditional logic. This is a strengthening question. How can we strengthen the conclusion? One powerful way is to rule out other possible conclusions. The conclusion is "if vacuum needs are not carpet (and small), then inexpensive handheld good" with operating premise being "good on wood and tile." How could we weaken this? By saying "what if I need to vacuum a small metal surface?"(not tile, not wood, and not carpet. How do we strengthen? By ruling this possibility out with "A": most surfaces wood tile or carpet.
Is C really strong enough to make this a valid argument? I ended up choosing C, but it seems too weak to lead to a valid inference? "Highly susceptible to inaccuracy" reads to me as saying "most will be inaccurate." It doesn't seem to read that "all those self reports are/must be inaccurate." I see how C would make the argument stronger or would "help to justify" the argument, but I do not see how C enables the argument to be properly drawn... I know I am getting lost in the weeds.
LOL they made it better by including more unnecessary sex scenes haha
#feedback How do you decide not to use "members of city council ←s→should vote against" as the conclusion? I have a hard time, when working through the problem before JY explains, deciding why I shouldn't use the ←s→ format. It makes so much sense why JY went through the process he did, but only after. Did anyone else, if you tried this by yourself first, want to use the ←s→ in the conclusion and kick ups "members of city council" into the domain?
