Maybe I am wrong, but I think that if you accept (B) as the conclusion, and the question was regarding weakening the argument, I think (D) could be a correct answer.

Did anyone else interpret (B) and (D) as assumptions? Was I incorrect in my analysis?

This was the first assumption that popped into my mind. The argument relied on Mr. Fat Cat licking his paws to clean his face 'after eating,' but it does not state that anything was actually eaten.
