Try going into settings and switching your video player to "basic." The new video player seems to have some issues with not showing the proper settings all the time.

My interpretation was that by assigning them together, the pair was not even given the option to work by themselves. In another case, they may have been allowed to work alone but instead chose to work together, but in the correct answer, they were forced to work together.
I felt E was incorrect because it never specified that Franklin did an action that was both above and beyond and saving somebodies life
Say I rushed into a burning building several times to save family pets. That is above and beyond for a police officer, but I did not save a human life.
Say in another instances, I stopped elderly folks from walking into the road before the crosswalk indicated they could cross. That saved lives, but it wasn't above and beyond for a police officer.
However, E does not guarantee that I did an action that was BOTH above and beyond and involved saving a life. It just said I did plenty of each.
If E said "On several occasions, Franklin did actions that were above and beyond that saved lives," then it would be correct, but E says he did some that were above and beyond, and some that saved lives. Those don't have to necessarily overlap in some way.
