I thought we were suppose to take everything from the stimulus as true except for the conclusion. So if the stimulus is telling me that the thermometer is saying 1 degree that's what I will assume. This is why I'm so confused as why D is the right answer.
A seems like it's making too strong of an assumption. For answer choice A I thought "So it's not effective for everyone but works for others so it doesn't entirely not work".
