I have an old GRE score from June 2021 that was required to enter into a grad program (just had to take it, score didnt matter). that being said the score is kinda abysmal. do I have to report it? esp since my lsat scores are recent (sept & nov of this year)

hi! I am a teach for america teacher who taught in the nyc doe for 3 years, & resigned in june (at the end of the school year). when the summer break started (july), I was accepted to an education policy & advocacy fellowship in nyc that was 2 months long, which ended sept 8th ish
I am applying right now, & currently unemployed - main reason being: I got married early october & was away the majority of the month. I took sept & nov lsats & studying during my downtime all summer & when I wasnt working in sept/when I got back end of oct before nov lsat. other reason being the market in nyc is crazy & I do not think ill be able to get a job that is law school-esk (legal secretary, paralegal, etc) to just work for 6 months before going to school. I will probably continue my job as a volleyball coach & supplement with another retail job to pay the bills until school.
now my question: since I am applying by the end of the month, are schools going to be wondering about my current employment status? do I need to submit an addendum for this? I feel like its a moo point but also idk?
Agreed with both above comment -- if you did not cancel those 145's (they show on your LSAC acct) I would also recommend potentially writing an addendum!
Nah I think you're good to go! Esp if you have no yet hit that high of a score, don't be the person who goes back for round 2 & scores lower. I would advise differently if you had continued studying / were scoring higher than that currently on PT's or if the school you wanted to attend had different medians -- I think you have a really good shot! (although take this with a grain of salt plz)
I needed this sm thank you
@marlencmillan563 hi! I also have adhd & I got extended time accommodations -- on the form there is a box for "other" & I wrote removal of experimental section!
connect your work with kids maybe to wanting to be a lawyer to make a better future for upcoming generations orrrr something with education? or even just take qualities you've drawn on from working with kids & connect those qualities to why you'd make a good lawyer
spend time untimed drilling to get used to how to answer each question type, you soon get faster. then start applying that to pt or just taking a section of a pt to refine timing
I have recently been told to do this! Although, I will not be doing it for Harvard lmao
I think schools will like to see that you took the time to personalize your PS per their programs instead of uploading the same one for all -- shows you care
I ended up eliminating D because I felt like the argument about the amount of people being benefited by this change was mildly irrelevant -- since the reason ANY benefits would be accomplished was through the competition & with E (saying there wouldn't be as much competition) it was not favorable for the conclusion.
I would say for me practice makes perfect - repetition & a thorough wrong answer journal helped me start seeing patterns in my reasoning (whether correct or incorrect)
I think E also works well bc of the mention of infancy in the hypothesis & "before age 1" in the answer choice
these explanations are vital to truly breaking things down & understanding not just why the right answer is right but why the wrong one is wrong... in the long run that can be the difference in percentiles, eventually allowing you to go faster because thew wrong answers will be obvious
drill with as much time as you need to learn how to approach each question -- with time, the process will become quicker
weakening / strengthening questions are sneaky hard (some of the hardest of the test) -- practice makes perfect!!! don't get down on yourself for not getting it first try, these types genuinely do require repetition & having a much more flexible thought process than other questions!
take classes! upgrade to live
i've seen a lot of discourse around people scoring much lower than their average pt's
am i rushing through br? am i not flagging enough?
once you get good enough at diagramming - practice not having to physically write it down during a timed test
if you see an answer you like - pick it and move
I have an accommodation for no experimental section -- is there a way to take practice tests in this format?
I say worry about it after the exam so you can focus on one thing at a time. You MUST complete the writing portion to receive your score, unless you have another writing same on file (ex. from the Aug 2024 test). I would recommend completing at leasttt a week for the scores come out but if you can 2 weeks before to give it time to get approved (usually doesn't take a while but who knows)
sleep -> /socks
Translation: If sleep then no socks.
or
/socks -> sleep
Translation: If no socks then sleep.
This would be incorrect to me because it seems to confuse sufficient and necessary (someone correct me if I am wrong) bc its like, the rule is only for when he sleeps he isn't wearing socks NOT when he isn't wearing socks he is sleeping.
For certain indicators, they are not always actively being an indicator - which is what makes this hard. in that sentence it seems that the indicator is always.
