I am confused on the timing of the writing portion of the exam. What is the deadline associated with the writing portion? Is it something to worry about before or after the actual exam?

I say worry about it after the exam so you can focus on one thing at a time. You MUST complete the writing portion to receive your score, unless you have another writing same on file (ex. from the Aug 2024 test). I would recommend completing at leasttt a week for the scores come out but if you can 2 weeks before to give it time to get approved (usually doesn't take a while but who knows)
