PT78.S4.P2 - most sociohistorical interpretations

I spend a couple of hours to figure out the structure/what's the author's position but I still do not understand it...

So he is disagreeing with Taruskin right?

What are exactly their arguments? What is the position of the "artists"? Do they intentionally misrepresent elites?

I'm especially confused with the last paragraph. At first I thought the author is agreeing with Taruskin...

Could anyone give me summary of each paragraph or just author's argument and Taruskin's argument are fine too.

Thank you in advance.

Oh but I thought we cannot put food on the desk right?

Do you mean...you put the candy in mouth before the break ends?

If we can chew or eat candy actually that would be great cuz I cannot drink coffee in the test day.

@ @ @

Thank you all :)

@ Accuracy and time are important, but what feels intuitive to you is also going to matter come game day!

Felt relieved to hear this.

Often times I split game boards differently from JY...like, based on different rules or elements.

I do result in picking correct answers using my boards, but often times I feel it's just coincidence and was not sure,

but I think I want to give myself some more credit...haha.

Thank you guys.

Thanks. But we may need to throw them away right, the back up ones...just wanted to double check.

Are we allowed to chew gum during the test?

kind of surprised...

Thanks, so it sounds like depending on proctors...

Actually, I'm gonna take the test as an accommodated student so it might be only me and the proctor in the test room.

I wonder whether he/she will check it strictly...

I also need to use some medical items so...

I read somewhere ppl wanna bring tea/coffee there. Can we do that? I mean...bring multiple beverage?

@.rizeq

Thanks, good to know.

Can we bring our own water bottle? Or just the water sold in the store?

And regarding snack...can we actually bring lunch-like food? Or if we want to bring food we have to ask them? (I saw there's "bring food permission" acommodation and wondering what this was...)

Sorry to jump in but I heard he was part of 7sage member before...is it true?

OP:

I read some of his explanations. They are pretty good. I think sometimes they have similar explanations and sometimes not.

But the reasoning behind is the same after all so...no wonder?

How do you use PT that you have already done?

Hi,

How to use the PT you have already done efficiently?

Even the last time you did it is a couple of month ago, if you did BR throughoutly,

you must remember some essense from it right?

How to use PT second time efficiently?

Or if you finish new PT, it is better to do older ones?(ones you have not seen yet)

Do you re-watch JY's explanation?

Thanks

When you know you cannot finish passage 4

What do you do?

Such as...

only 5-6 min left and you know you cannot answer all of the questions in time.

When would you do?

Try to answer as many questions as you can or go back to previous passages and make them all correct?

Dec.1 take, Feb2nd take?

Hello

If I want to take December test and use the score to apply...and if I take Feb. one too,

can we submit the Feb score as well?

Some schools I'm thinking to apply close the application on Feb, so by the time Feb score is up, they are no longer accept application. (kind of the reason I need to take Dec one first)

In this situation can we still tell them that we want to submit Feb score too?

Honestly I can just take the test once due to my condition now, but I may need to take another depending on the score.

Anyone has any idea?

Thank you

lower backpain...

Hello, sorry for posting multiple posts.

I tend to have lower back pain due to the Lateral curvature.

Can we move our body and neck while taking the test? I'm afraid it will be seen as cheating...

What do you do when you get tired during the test?

Thanks

David's essay edit

Hello,

I have a question about a course including unlimited editing.

Does it really mean unlimited unlimited editing?

So we can ask him to edit as many times as we want?

Does he check the content only or will he correct grammar also?

Thanks

For LG, actually reading choices help me bc I found sometimes I miss a sub-game board and miss some inferences and sometimes I even mis-represent rules. But maybe this may be an indicator I'm not mature on LG?

For RC, the answer choices become so long on modern LSAT so I tend to skip once I see a word that feels not right...such as "disaprovement" when the question asks about author's attitude but in the passsage they actually approve it...especially on those long AC (4-5 sentences) I just don't want to read all of them...no enough time if I do so. I was not sure this is OK or I should skim even if I don't have time...

Thanks guys,

@ My honest answer though is that you should ideally get to a point where you feel so confident you do not need to read the other choices.

Does this apply to LG and RC as well?

If you are confident with an answer choice or if you found a word used in an answer choice is not right, do you just move on?

Thank you guys.

Because I remember JY did many diagramming in sufficient assumpition family questions, I thought everyone does like what he does.

But maybe its not necessary?

Hi,

So do you read all answer choices in easy questions or just pick the one you felt right?

I guess you read all answer choices on hard ones but what about for easy ones?

And in long stimulus do you actually read all of them or just skim over the context and focus on only the argument parts?

@ if we see it from the perspective of the LSAT, they need to maintain the curve and preserve the test's integrity. I can foresee significant changes coming to the test. What will they be? I am not sure...but I won't be surprised if we some changes to the test that make it harder for students.

And they actually already started the "reform."

Starting from September, all accommodation students have to take experiment section.

How often do you actually diagram per LR section?

how often do you usually diagram? In which question?

Sometimes I feel not diagraming is easy but other times I found diagraming is better...but not sure when and when not to.

Do you read all answer choices in LR by the way? Especially those early questions...

Can I ask a question then?

Did the proctor stare at you? What did the proctor do during the test? Can we bring backpack and just give it to the proctor? I don't really wanna bring just zip bag with me...

Did the check water bottle?

You don't have to reply them to get the confirmation letter, but after your get the letter, you will need to contact the proctor to confirm you will either take the test on the day or not.

Details will be written on the confirmation letter (such as the proctor's contact info)

This is my first time too so maybe other students can add if I miss some info...

@

That's what I was not sure and asked above...in the confirmation letter it says the sentence so I thought I wll not get the accommodations, but it sounds like the sentence is included in all students letter (if you do not reply them there will be no test or accommodations).

I thought there is further changes or something (they will deny something etc)

I guess I will put more emphasis on my weakest sections/question types and then review. I was wondering to do unseen PTs (old ones) but maybe that's not a good idea...

Wait...I'm confused...what the final letter people are discussing? The confirmation letter? I don't understand because it says 48 hours thing but it does not say the final revise or anything.

Also my letter does not have email address but only phone number...

Do we reply to LSAC or the proctor?

How did you know they changed the process?

Srry to jump in.

Hi @

My confirmation letter says "You will not get accommodation....etc" does your letter say this too?

I was kind of surprised...I thought we need to let them know and otherwise we will not get accommodations or is this for the next LSAT?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
