Should I Cancel?

I took the LSAT on Saturday. I surprisingly did not freak out at the last game, I was calm, and just kind of went for it. But after they called time, I looked down, and realized I had only bubbled 22 questions and not 23. I have never ever made a bubbling error in the past, but I remember skipping one question early on. I will add this is my second take and I have been studying for about a year and a half.

I either just forgot to bubble question 23 or I messed up when bubbling. I have been debating canceling. Should I? I

@.parham I would also suggest picking up the LSAT Trainer, I think that it goes really well with the 7sage curriculum. It offers some great strategies for RC, it really helped me stop trying to understand what I was reading and focus more on understanding the structure of the argument for each RC passage. I used to be really bad at LG. I followed Pacifico's strategy (https://classic.7sage.com/discussion#/discussion/2737/logic-games-attack-strategy) and my score has improved so much! I highly reccomend it.

Skipping Question in LR

After listening to the skipping webinar, I have started to implement skipping when I PT mostly in the LR sections. Now that I have started skipping, I am averaging about 5-7 minutes left over at the end of an LR section, so I go back and do the questions that I skipped. Right now I am able to select an answer choice for every question that I skipped by the time the 35 minutes is up. Is that the proper way to skip? Should I aim to have an answer for every question that I skip or should it be that there are two or three questions blank with no answer selected at the of end of an LR section?

I did 7 sage first and then did the Trainer minus the games because I like JY's method better and did not want to get confused. I found that the Trainer really helped me improve my understanding of RC and my ability to find flaws. It goes well with 7 sage in my opinion.

Also having a notation process for RC really helps me stay focused. I highly recommend @method! I believe she did a webinar on it.

For RC once I started ignoring subject matter, my score in that section increased substantially (from averaging -8 to -5) because I realized that the subject matter is not important, I do not need to understand it. For example, I did not use to like science passages and would spend a bunch of time getting sucked into trying to understand concepts. Now I read it, I see they are talking about bacteria X, and how it use to do one thing and now they think it is doing another, and bacteria X could be the cure to cancer. I do not need understand what bacteria X is at all.

I have a whole wheat english muffin or bagel with avocado, one egg, veggie sausage, and cheese. Then I have coffee and an apple. My snack is a banana and almonds. I like having a big breakfast that keeps me pretty much full for the whole test. My snack is more like an insurance against becoming hungry.

@ Thank you for the advice!" I will be at the BR on Saturday. For the timed sections...do you reccomended scoring them or not? Just thinking in terms of mental stamina it might not be a good idea to score them....

June 2016 Question

So I recently took PT 74 and scored a 168, which is my highest score ever! My goal is around a 165. However my last three PTs were a 162, 164, and a 166. I am a little concerned about taking June given my range in scores. Any advice?

I am going to be taking my last PT this weekend, most likely 75.

LSAC GPA lower than UG GPA

My LSAC GPA is lower than my UG GPA. I took some classes in high school at a local college and that lowered it a bit. I am worried it will hurt my chances applying to some schools where my degree gpa is at the median but my LSAC gpa is lower than the median.

Strategies for Skipping LR Questions

Hi All-

I am having trouble skipping questions in LR. I recognize when I am spinning my wheels about half the time but the other half it is when I look up and I have spent three minutes or more on a question that I realize that I need to skip it. Any tips on how to skip questions and when to come back to them? How about when you skip questions, how do you mark it on your bubble sheet?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

@ I have the sets of 10 LSAT preptests from LSAC. Is there a way to do this without having the PDFs? I think this also applies to my PTs because I BR on the same copy of my PTs because I only have the hard copies. Also I think I was a bit misunderstood earlier I am getting -2 to -5 on each LR sections so still between -4 and -10 for the total LR... Would the best way to improve be to buy pdfs of the tests?

Does my personal statement need to tell admissions why I want to attend law school? I have written a personal statement on a topic where it might feel contrived to suddenly end with why I want to attend law school. But is that what admission officers expect? I will add that I have been out of school for 3.5 years.

I am writing a diversity statement. Should I just include why I want to attend law school in my diversity statement?

How to Drill Properly

Hi All- I am wondering how to best drill to improve my score on various sections. I have a book I got from a friend that is the Manhattan LSAT 10 Real LSAT questions grouped by question type. I am currently focusing on questions that according to the LSAT analytics tool on 7Sage says are high priority. But I feel like I am spending too much time on each question type and do not feel like I am seeing a difference in my prep test scores. Any tips or advice on the best way to drill?

I started studying for the LSAT in February for the October 2015 LSAT. I went through the power score bibles and now am going through the 7sage course. My highest score was a 163 about a month ago but since then my score has been decreasing each prep test with my lowest score a 149. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or why I am not improving. I have been blind reviewing my prep test and drilling during the week. Should I stop taking prep tests and just focus on finishing the 7sage curriculum and drilling LG and LR? Any advice or tips or similar experiences?

I worked full time while studying too. And I did a different schedule from 7sages' for PTs because I found that taking PTs before or after work was never as good as when I woke up well rested and fresh on a Saturday or Sunday. And taking back to back was a lot for me to handle...I found that I needed at least a day in between PTs. So I took one PT a week. I would wake up on Saturday, go to a coffee shop, and take a PT. I would BR on Sundays. And during the week I would split up a PT, so take one section a day during the week.

BR Score VS. Actual Score

I just finished the 7 Sage curriculum two weeks ago. My first PT was an actual score of 160 and blind review of 165. I took two PTs, one yesterday, and one today, where my blind review score was high but my actual score was low, 151 actual & BR 160, 154 actual & 162 BR. I am feeling pretty discouraged by the drop in my actual score. I am confused as to what the BR means in terms of studying, etc.?

I am consistently -5 to -10 on the Logic Games. I have been using the Fool Proof method. However, I have the books of LSATs so I don't have ten copies but I do the games 10 times on blank notebook paper, not writing on the actual game.

I am not sure what to do about the discrepancy between my actual score and my BR review score. Any advice would be great?!

I also would add I just got the LSAT Trainer but I have not read it yet. I am hoping to take October test.

I can't remember most of the questions from the test. I had the LR (25) LG LR(26) LR(26) RC. I remember that the third LR section seemed harder than the first two, the games seemed average, and the topics of like two RC passages. I feel like I did okay overall but just can't remember the details. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is that normal?

@ -Thanks for the advice! Some follow up: I have taken 20 PTs thus far but only two in the 70s. I blind review between a 165-172. When I BR I have been writing down the reasoning for right and wrong answers for LR and RC and then reviewing each answer choice with the explanations on LSAThacks. In terms of shoring up weakness...should I re watch the videos and drill? I have not been doing that...

For LR, I have been drilling individual games. So you are suggesting to drill full sections?

@ - After you got more into the 70s do you feel like you eventually improved?

Feeling extremely discouraged

I have been studying for more than six months at this point. I am hoping to take the June 2016 LSAT. My last 10 preptest have been between 159-163 with three of the preptest at a 161 and three at a 159. My goal is around a 165. I was getting around -3 or -2 on the games but my last PT (71) I got -6 but in BR I got -0. I just started taking the 70s PT and my LR score has dropped from averaging around -5 or -6 to -8 or -9 per each section. On RC I average -7. I am feeling super discouraged. Any tips on what I can do differently in my studying? Ways to improve my score? Should I go through the 7sage curriculum or the trainer again? I will say that my first timed test score was a 149.

I just want to say this thread inspired me to pick up some black ticonderogas this week and I used them on my first PT this past weekend. And it made such a difference! I was using some random kind of pencils before so thanks for this thread 7sage!

Thanks everyone! I am going to cross my fingers and I hope I just forgot to bubble in Q.23. I felt really good about every other sections so I really hope I did not make a bubbling error.

@ I skipped question 17, I am pretty sure I bubbled in an educated guess answer and wanted to come back to it later. And @ I am not sure I could write an addendum, would that do anything to help in terms of admissions? And to be honest I have never made a bubbling error before so I am more inclined to say that I did not bubble in Q.23 in my rush to figure out the virus game.
