Oh my god. I spent way too much time on this question. This is what happens when I don't read the question stem carefully--For some reason I thought Rolanda was committing an error and my mind was like wha...? What error is she committing, it seemed totally plausible to me. lol lessoned learned!! Its quite funny a tutor told me that when a woman and a man are disagreeing on the lsat the woman is always right and the man is always wrong. Interesting to keep in mind :)

Hey thank you for posting this. I recently quit my full-time job to dedicate myself to study full-time. It's been hard for me to really dedicate myself at 100% just because I am so used to working and going to school so just focusing on one thing is pretty hard. But I am thinking of volunteering or doing a part-time just so that it won't look like that is all I was doing (especially if my LSAT score isn't as high as I am hoping). I think at the end of the day it really depends on you--can you be okay with just focusing on one thing without distractions? if so then i don't think it will affect you negatively if you get a great LSAT score.

Lightbulb just went off in my head. When I was reading the argument proceeds by I automatically thought like an argument part question it was what does the first sentence do for the argument. I now understand it actually means how does the argument start (premise) what is the premise doing for the argument. Ha! Thanks for this video good thing knowing this before the test!

@ Wow thats a great diagnostic! I think you will do great! After you have the fundamentals down everything really comes together when you start taking your practice tests. Be sure to keep reviewing your lessons even after you take your practice tests to keep refreshing your mind! Good luck! =)

Justina,

I want to say that I was in your boat a few months ago. I was working full-time, going to school full-time. I was beat every single day. Nevertheless, I thought it would be too much to study for the LSAT and do everything I was doing so I resolved to graduating with a great GPA and study afterward. (Good luck on getting your GPA up that much that is super impressive!!)

I greatly underestimated the time required to study for this test. My job was extremely demanding since I worked with lawyers and sales! I figured I was really wasting my time on a job that yes pays the bills but I was miserable in. I decided to quit my job and study full-time. It has been the best decision by far. I know this is not your situation and not every one can do what I did. But I think my advice would be if possible try to limit your spending and perhaps stick to one job that is less demanding and study as much as possible. Its commendable to try to work two jobs, school and find time to study, but trust me this test is HARD! You really need to focus on learning the fundamentals.

My cold score was 142. I am barely now getting 158-162 and that is after 6 months of studying, full-time no job and no school. I think many people underestimate how difficult it is. Like JY says maybe your a beast maybe you will learn super fast--but its better to set out either a longer study schedule and delay law school for a bit than to burn yourself out trying to do everything at once. Law school isnt going anywhere it will still be there next year. You are young, you can do it!

Hope for all you low initial diagnostic takers!

Hey guys so I just wanted to share some great news. Today was the first time I got a 162 on a PT and 168 on Blind Review. My initial diagnostic was a pathetic 142. I really never expected to be able to score what I am now and with the test only a few weeks away I feel more ready to conquer this test. Don't give up guys. The lessons and the blind review method are really helping me and I know they can work for you too!

Thank you all so much for your tips and your suggestions! It really makes me feel better knowing that I am not the only one that is struggling with this. Furthermore I feel glad to be a part of such a supportive community. Just an update, I have taken many of your suggestions about the foolproof method, timing, understanding the rules, focusing on the lessons and just hammering them out. Although I still struggle with the mapping out all the possiblities approach, I do see myself getting better. Before I would just stare at a problem and just not even know where to go after I got my game board set up (since I wasn't making enough inferences). Now I know that some games are more rule driven than others and I can't panic and stall like I was doing before. And after doing so many they really do start feeling the same although I definitely prefer some games over others. (Spatial sequencing games I still loath with a passion!)

Also, I really get excited when I can finish a problem in time and get all if not at least half correct. Baby steps is the way to go. Again thanks for your encouragement. If anyone else is struggling please read the suggestions above, you guys are awesome!

@ I understand the whole pressure to get to school now rather than later because of wanting to start a family. I am 25 and have been married for 2 years.

My advice to you is to ensure that your score is a true testament to your ability. If you take the test and get your score back and know in your heart you can do better I think postponing for a year makes sense. Children and family will come eventually but I think a great school that will propel you in the career of your choice is what is most important. Plus a great score will bring in scholarship offers which will save you money in the long haul.

Lastly, I think as women we have the additional worry of fertility and such. Believe me I know! A lot of my friends already have babies and I am sitting here like-I am just trying to get a good LSAT score. The struggle is real but it will be worth it in the end. If you postpone or not! Good luck I hope this helps!

Would answer choice E be a necessary assumption for the argument?

Ahh logic games were so easy but I know I messed one up! I'm so mad at myself because I've done so many logic games but due to nerves I missed a rule and I got entirely a whole game wrong for sure! Ahh well there is always a next time! Good luck everyone!

Thanks guys this is really helpful!! I definitely like the fact that you get different tools from each course to take the test. I think I am going to stick to doing both and try to understand both methods. Like you said, they are both trying to teach me how to think! Thanks again

Feeling hopeless about logic games

Hello All,

I just wanted to know if there is anyone else out there who is really struggling with even the simplest of logic games? I just started the logic games portion of the course but I am having a hard time even making the smallest inferences in logic games. This is making me feel really hopeless since I know they only get harder. Is there a section that most people just dont do good at? Is it possible to still score around the 160s if your logic games skills are not there? I am trying to keep hopeful because I dramatically increased my understanding on logical reasoning and reading comprehension using 7sage but my brain is just not working with these logic games.

Any advice or personal experience with drastically increasing your logic games skills would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Doing two lsat prep courses at the same time.

Hello,

I dont know if any of you have any advice on this but I would be very helpful for some imput. I signed up for this course a few months back and I love how JY explains everything in depth and detail. It really makes me feel more confident in performing better on the LSAT. Anyway, my boss found out I was taking an online course and offered to pay for me to take an in-person class (Testmasters) since she thought it would better prepare me for the exam. I didn't want to seem ungrateful so I let her pay and enrolled in the Testmasters course for the December LSAT.

I just went to the course yesterday but everything seemed too fastpaced but there were a couple good tips too. I dont think I will feel ready for the December LSAT since JY explained that it usually takes a year to really understand the principles for the LSAT but I don't know if doing both courses would be detrimental to my learning. For example, they introduced a logic game yesterday and since I havent got to that part of the course on 7sage I was completely lost-so I went back today and started the logic games section in 7sage.

I don't want to just stop going to the Testmasters course because I think that it could still help me in some ways but I like 7sage better. Should I stick to both and get more in depth with 7sage after the Testmasters course ends or should I just stick to one?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
