I think it depends on your preference. I would personally put it into the setup of the game, and when I review rules, I include the master game board as well.
I guess compared to C, D doesn't directly imply that they used flints for chores including aesthetic purposes. But C says "display" which gives us more clue that it might be for aesthetic purposes. :)))))))))))))
But consuming more calcium doesn't cause brittle bones. If caffeine makes you lose calcium, and you consume calcium-filled drinks, the calcium level in your body is probably balanced--> no brittle bones.

This argument is based on an assumption that there are no durable items in the pit. Cuz then why wouldn't we find anything valuable in the pit that provides us with insights?
What B does here is to eliminate the option that there could be durable items in the pit by saying that scavengers came and took them).
This strengthens the argument by maintaining the assumption.
