Yes I did take official Dec 2017 test. Sorry typo on my part. I'm 30% through the CC. It's been a slow start with working full-time and two kids. Hoping to get back in the groove of studying.

Hi! I'm shooting for January 2019 as well. I signed up for the curriculum in March, and now I have to get my butt in gear and get back into studying after my horrible Dec 2018 performance.

Bombed an LSAT...trying to re-motivate

I have viewed discussion threads for the past month, and I have decided to sign up for Ultimate Plus. I am hoping that I can pull myself out of this rut.

Last summer, I had signed up for a pricey Powerscore online course, cancelled one LSAT score, and then in December, I had gotten below a 150. It was a disaster, and the nerves were getting the best of me. I was so nervous during the test. I had PT'd consistently around a 165, studied while working full-time, in the middle of a career change, and being a mother of two. I was beyond disappointed.

I decided to try to shake it off, immerse myself in studying, and I am hoping to pull myself out of this funk and score what I am capable of doing.

Starting my 7sage journey.....now!

Congratulations Leah! Your contributions to the 7Sage discussions are always thoughtful and encouraging. It has been amazing to see a fellow non-traditional applicant go through the journey and get accepted to a T14!! Seeing your post makes me think it’s time to get back in the study groove for this upcoming cycle and shake things off. Congratulations!!!!!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am just extremely anxious about to getting into a local test center. Two years ago, it was super easy registering, but now I know to register early!!!

LSAT Waitlist

Hi everyone! I tried to register for the October 2019 LSAT in Seattle area, and there's an option for a waitlist. I even tried November 2019 and there's also a waitlist. Has anyone had experiences with the LSAT waitlists? It's giving me anxiety that the November 2019 is completely booked. Yikes!!!

Hey guys thanks for the encouragement. Yes I meant Nov 2018 oops! University of Washington , the school I would really like to attend, averages multiple LSAT scores. My PT scores are consistently above their median,so hoping to keep the momentum going. Thanks for the input!

Hi-

Definitely- the average LSAT is 164. My last recorded LSAT score was under 150 (which I will have to explain in an addendum). Several applicants that have higher LSAT and GPA have been rejected and have told me to steer clear. I am set to re-take Nov 2019, and I figure I'll put together my app, and submit. My thought is that I'll miss 100% of the shots that I don't take in this process.

Hi everyone,

I have wanted to apply to a regional school; however, the website states that multiple LSAT scores are averaged. This will work to my disadvantage since I cancelled once, then had a really disappointed LSAT performance. I would have to score a 175 or higher to pull my average LSAT score to their median.

I wanted to get some input whether I should just forget about applying that school, and set focus on another regional school with lower LSAT median.

Needless to say I am applying to both. Have any of you experienced something similar to this? Were you able to get in, get waitlisted, etc?

Would love some input. Thanks!

What a great thread! It's so amazing to hear that others are in a similar situation. I'm 32 with two kids, and we are finally in a place financially, where I can finally pursue law school. I think man what the heck am I thinking? Can I keep up with the younger twenty-some year olds out there? But my husband keeps saying," Give it a shot, because it's worse to not have tried and just not know what could've been."

You can definitely do this! I've started to wake up really early to fit in at least three hours of studying, and here and there on my lunch break. Some fellow 7sagers have also reminded me that it's the quality of studying, not quantity. I signed up for Ultimate Plus, and there's so much material and not enough time with work. But focus on quality with what time you have. It's solid advice that I've gotten!!

Keep posting :)

Thank you for sharing your story. I am also a parent of two kids, and I am juggling working full-time, LSAT, and earning my HR Management Certificate. I have really thought about pursuing a JD/MBA route at some point down the road. How are you balancing this all? I am eager to hear from others with families :)

Congratulations! Stories like yours inspire me! I've been out of school for eleven years and sometimes I doubt whether I can still do this. Congrats for a merit scholarship! Any more tips ?!!!

Awesome job on the high score! It's great inspiration when fellow test takers who have found success share their stories. Thank you for taking the time and sharing.

Also @ thanks for the suggestion for laminating LG. I find myself with mounds of paper and a big mess. Smarter way to go about it!

Hi- Like some other 7sagers here, I am in my early thirties. I had wanted to go to law school right after undergrad, but graduated with crippling student debt and had to work in retail management. What I offer to you is that your career path or journey will not always be linear.

There is this perception that you graduate college, pursue graduate studies, then get a high paying job. This is not the case, and there is nothing wrong with that. Your twenties is the best time to take risks such as starting your own business, etc. If in a year it doesn't work out, you can always sit in a law class, connect with lawyers and current law students. The law class I sat in, most students were in mid-twenties and early thirties. There were some that were older.

I would do some research, take some risks, and if law school truly what you want to do, then do it. Law school will always be there.

I can relate as I work full-time, have two kids, and my husband works a rotating shift schedule. Like many others, I find that carving out two or three hours during your work week can be possible. If you audio record your notes (I do using an app), I use my commute time for that. Lunch time can be used for studying. I used half of my lunch to drill and the other to do something completely mindless.

Also when my kids are doing homework or playing well, I’ll fit in some drills. When I have a weekend free, I’ll always dedicate the morning to studying, then dedicate the rest of the day (usually after 12p) to my family or to myself.

The biggest mind shift for me is thinking of my week as 168 hours and plugging in study time in creative ways. Often I’ll challenge myself and ask what can I be doing that’s productive and will help me.

It’s definitely possible, and I’ve learned that it helps to be flexible and creative with your time.

Good luck!

Welcome! I can relate. My December score was like yours, and also balance FT job, spouse, and children. I signed up for 7sage, and the community is so awesome. Any questions I had or any support, I have been able to find here.

Good luck in your studies, and keep up the positivity! We can do this!

Congratulations!! Having children is amazing and challenging-it's the best thing that has happened to me! I found that studying with a newborn is a lot less structured. Moments when my baby seemed content to entertain herself, I would be in LSAT-world. When she would nap, I would take that opportunity to nap too since sleep deprivation can be debilitating.

Take care of yourself and make sure you get some time for you! Moms are tough :)

@ @ Thank you both for motivating thoughts! Yes I am still in the middle of a career change transitioning into a corporate HR role.

After my dismal December performance, I kept thinking, maybe this isn't for me...but hearing about other people's 7sage stories, I think I may be able to do it. Such an inspiring community!

Thanks for resurrecting this thread. I want to apply this fall! Depending on my PT scores, I may take the January 2019 test. I keep pushing law school off year after year, so hoping I can set aside more time to study consistently.

You aren't alone-this is a super supportive community of fellow test takers.

I myself scored pretty consistently on my PT, then scored below a 150 on the Dec 2017 LSAT. I was crushed, tired, ashamed, and disappointed. I found out about my score at work, and had to take an extended lunch because I kept ugly crying. I keep wavering if I can take this test again, or pursue something else.

Reading your post is inspiring, and know that you are not alone and that many of us are struggling with this test. Just reach out and the 7sage community is really supportive.

Hi Leah M B- They do consider the future loss of income as a part of calculating financial aid. You will have to contact financial aid at the school though, as they may have a form for you to fill out. Good luck!

@ Thank you so much! It is nice to hear from someone who is in a similar situation! After working full-time, then taking care of the family, sometimes I feel wiped out, and ask myself what in the world am I doing???

But then I think that down the road, I will regret not trying to achieve a lifelong goal! Thank you for your kind words!

Don't be too hard on yourself. Similar situation happened to me. My husband happened to pick up some of my logic games and figure it out himself. What the heck!!! But when he went through Reading Comp, it was a different situation!

Everyone has strengths and opportunities. I used to suck at Logic Games, but through repetition and a lot of time reviewing, I was able to get better at them with time.

Keep your chin up! You got this!

Besides tuition, scholarship opportunities/ requirements, employment stats, and bar passage rates, here's some other things:

I always ask about classroom size, accessibility of professors, clubs or groups that I may be interested in, and if you have an inkling about what type of law you are interested in, I always ask about what type of opportunities the law school has in order to get you involved in that particular area.

Some other things you can explore are school atmosphere around finals time, accommodations to help with your academic success, parking, and if law students get exposure to local attorneys.

For those non-traditional students, like myself, I always look for day care options, flexibility, and a supportive environment.

Good luck and have fun :)
