finding the gap is still a good strategy. It will help you eliminate at least 2 answers maybe 3 which don't relate to the argument. But then when you get down to remaining 2 or 3

from there it helps me to see which one guarantees the conclusion; this is often a sufficient assumption rather than a necessary. then another answer will only strengthen then argument and when you negate it will weaken but its still possible. when you study try identifying these (untimed or during review)

When you do the negation strategy the answer shouldn't just weaken it should destroy the argument. Think "what are we even talking about" without this assumption. Note: if there's no better answer a sufficient assumption can be the necessary one

C was tricky cause I inferred correlation as could be positive or negative

on the phenomenon hypothesis strengthen questions you need to find another phenomenon that does something similar to strengthen.

tough one. got down to C and D by eliminating the others. Then I felt like I had to make assumption for both to work. I though chaotic = nonlinear was a safer assumption vs somewhat unstable = partly linear.

But it seems the "somewhat" give the inference more leeway.

@corykopicki143 exactly its not a must be true, had the same thought process. So confusing necessary with sufficient does not apply. you can make an inference

great practice question. Reinforces that most passage are tacit endorsement unless you get the writers voice saying otherwise in the passage

in retrospect after I looked at the answer choices and saw no causality flaws. I should have looked at stimulus to see if there was another flaw. (given you have time)

D) I made an incorrect assumption in treating it as " contradicts itself in its reasoning" but it is only saying portrayal of column. E) has weird wording but implies hypocrisy

reluctantly chose C cause i eliminated the other answers. thought it was too simple to be true but worked out. Recommend doing some elimination drills

B is wrong cause D is just a closer parrallel (better answer).

misdiagnosed the conclusion but the "only" in answer choice A should have alarmed me

yes this one is tough cause D isnt even wrong.

honestly thought all the answers were wrong here. i read early crust as not being fully formed yet. but just realized A qualfies the answer
