i got this question right simply by following the rules that you said about watching out for indicator words at the end of arguments that introduce sentences that POSE as conclusion but are actually sub-conclusions or major premises. That really helped

I understood why i got the question wrong, which is very helpful to me. Now i dont understand why i could have missed that question in the first place

the reason he says this because, sometimes within the context of the argument there will be another argument( an embedded argument) and you are to be able to identify which one is the authors argument verses which one is background info or just another persons argument embedded in the context.
