Artists shouldn’t exclusively model their work on objects existing outside of the psyche. Why not? Because it’s a waste to use their power solely on things that would exist regardless of the artist.

The conclusion is a rejection of the belief of some artists: “Many artists mistakenly think that models need be taken only from outside the psyche.”

This is the main conclusion. (A) rejects the belief of many artists, and a rejection of this claim is exactly what the surrealist concludes.

The surrealist and other artists are discussing a should vs. should not for artistic representation; we have no information on how it’s actually being used.
