I might be splitting hairs, but I didn't choose B because it said that they only had reasonable beliefs. Not that there were grounds for reasonable beliefs. I see how it's the best answer nonetheless, but this was a little misleading.
What's helping me most with weaken questions is finding and sticking to the conclusion.
The conclusion in this question:
"This [meaning undertaking the marketing campaign] would not guarantee success, but it is one chance to save the product, so we should try it."
I decoded this as:
"Here is SOME choice (one of many), so we should try it to save the product."
OR
"Let's do it, why not?"
The answer in this question says exactly "why not."
Note that the answer of this question is:
1. The only answer where the grammatical subject of the answer directly references the conclusion.
2. The only answer that directly says, "Here is why we should not undertake a new marketing campaign."
I hope this is helpful. :)
My understanding is that C does weaken the conclusion some, but B destroys the reasoning provided in the stimulus.
