Soooooo funny.

I have a totally similar experience. I took this past November LSAT in Toronto. I made sure I was super prepared. Like super, super, super prepared. To the point of re-checking my zip lock baggy an absurd amount of times. Morning rolls round and you're girl is UP AND ADAM. After a 35 minute train ride and a 10 minute subway ride, my last leg of the journey was a 10 minute walk to the testing centre. A couple minutes into my walk, from the corner of my eye, I see a Starbucks. My knees fall weak for that Signature Blonde Roast. I check my phone and see that I have about 30 minutes until 8:30am. I like to say that this is the point in my story where things unravel. Perhaps the start of the end.

With coffee in hand, it is 8:10 and I have 20 minutes to get to the testing centre. No problem. Finally, I arrive at the specified George Street location all with 13 minutes to spare. But, to my horror, I am face to face with a small tattoo parlour. Heart rate picks up. Where's my fellow LSAT brethren? Empty street. Weird vibes. Something is not right. With a shanking hand I pull out my ticket, only to read that I am to arrive at a testing centre on St. George Street. I am at George Street. The saints have cursed me. I Google Maps my proximity to St.George Street. A 10 minute drive. My heart rate is blasting through the roof at this point and I engage in squirrel-like thinking. No cabs around. No time to wait for an uber. Look, there is a man with a van! I approach said man in full sprint. I can tell he senses the crazy in my eye but I do not care. Sir, I don't know you but please drive me across town to a testing centre on St. George Street... (eyes fill with tears)...the doors will close in ten minutes and I have been studying for months. He is reluctant; he says that he works for a company that picks-up and drops-off wheelchair users and is on a tight schedule. My eye begins to twitch. For reasons unknown, he agrees and lets me into his unmarked van. It has no seats and no seat belts. With eyes glued to the clock, I stand straight as a pencil. Two minutes into the drive he politely asks me if I could..like...sit down or something. Our eyes lock in the rear view mirror. Makes sense. My rigidness is probably creeping him out. Assuming a crouched frog-like position on his van floor, I begin to pray to father time. This man drives in street-style race mode like the boss I knew he would be. I arrive at the testing centre with legitimately one minute to spare. I thank this stranger, my saving grace. Also, like you, I scored 5 points below my average scoring range and just took the January LSAT.

Tip 1: don't give into Starbucks if time is of the essence.

Tip 2: Read the address of your testing centre with the same criticality as you would a reading comprehension passage.

Tip 3: I highly would not recommend it but, perhaps, there are situations that warrant getting into a stranger's unmarked van.

OMG- this was the best story. Haha! Thank you so much for making me laugh :). I needed it! That damn Starbucks!!

Does anyone suggest any over the counter sleeping aids that do not make you drowsy the next day? I'm not talking about holistic de-stress tablets or tea. My husband snores and some times wakes me up in the middle of the night. Thanks for any input . Obviously I know not to take it the first time the night before the test. Thanks!

People in this thread are being extremely optimistic. If you haven't been studying and are starting right now, you're not going to get through the 7sage course. It's going to be very individual and dependent on how quickly you pick things up. Some would maybe be able to do it in that time frame, many will not.

I'm very skeptical of believing that it's now or never. I've heard people give reasons for that outlook, and, in my opinion, it's almost never really the only option. It takes minimum 3 years to get a JD, it's not like this whole thing is a quick process. And I disagree that it doesn't matter at all where you go to law school. No, not everyone needs to go to a T14. Yes, you can be a lawyer and have everything work out from regional schools. But that's different than saying it makes no difference where you attend. For you own sake, I really hope you don't go into an extreme amount of debt at a low ranked school. If this is a recent decision you made to attend law school, I very very highly advise taking more time than this to think about it, study for the LSAT, and look at all your options. A $250k education isn't something that should be taken lightly.

Please do some research at Law School Transparency Reports (lstreports.com). Check out the unemployment rates from the schools you are considering. You need more than anecdotal information before committing to a school.

I thought you gave great advice!! :)

Hi everyone, just an update. I am now consistently scoring around 162 with a few 160's and 164's! This is, as others suggested, from scoring better on Logic Games. I think doing all prep games helped, because I kind of learned the inferences as many others mentioned. I write in November so hoping the score remains. Thanks to all for the encouragement and advice :) And @ I hope you are doing better now, and if not, you will be soon I know it!

Hi- I'm curious. Have you been doing an LG a day? What has been your strategy? Congratulations on your hard work that really is such an accomplishment.

I took the digital LSAT and wrote a piece on it. It is for some reason quicker to take however there is this dis-attached feeling from the test itself. They do give you scratch papers but you have to dispose it all before leaving the room. Also we had some technical issues on the tablets they gave us, so not sure how they are going to work with it - what if it malfunctions? What if it glitches, they need a tech person in each location.

For someone who has taken the digital test, I don't think this will stick. But at the same time, how long do we continue with this whole paper thing. I rather take the test and get my scores asap then do it on paper and get it 3 weeks later.

I definitely agree with everything you just said. It is hell waiting for your scores!!! I read that if you choose to cancel your score- you get to retake the LSAT FOR FREE. How cool is that?

I love this post! It warms my black heart that there are so many students on this discussion forum that are lifting each other up.

I can definitely relate to getting a lower LSAT score than what you were expecting. I've been experiencing anxiety and every day it feels like it gets worse and worse. Since I've been studying for this test it has increased tenfold. I have tried everything: yoga, meditation, cutting sugar and alcohol out of my diet, getting a massage, exercise, and taking a break from the LSAT. Taking medication has always been a last resort, but after a year of this- I'm serously at my wit's end. I have an appointment to meet with a therapist next Tuesday and could not be more excited for a doctor's appointment. My anxiety is getting out of hand so much so that it is starting to affect people around me and my day to day life. Not to exagerrate but I feel like I am living in hell. It is crippling and a lot of the time I feel like I have no way out. I have taken the LSAT more times then I would like to admit. I know the material but am having problems reaching my goal score on an actual LSAT test, because my test day anxiety is so severe. I know that I can score higher on the LSAT, which is why I'm taking it again in November. Have you ever thought about talking to someone?

I can definitely relate to what you are going through. I would definitely sign up for the November test and take it day by day. It's really hard getting over a disappointment like that. I honestly feel so stupid when I talk to someone who studied for the LSAT and they say that they only took it once. Keep pushing forward, I know you can do this!! Take a couple days and relax and then start studying again this weekend. We have seven weeks until the november test which I think is plenty of time. You said that test day conditions were horrible, which is probably why you got the score you did in September. Maybe practice in a coffee shop or some place noisy. You got this and I believe in you. You also have all these other people on this forum cheering you on. Don't worry November is your month to shine!! I wish you the best of luck!!! (3(/p)

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they lost traction and intensity that you had leading up to the September exam, spent all your energy on the week of the test, gave your best on test day, and now the drive + motivation is somewhat defused? I can't seem to pick up my pace again (and it's been almost 3 weeks already).

If anyone is going through the same phase, please let me know you're out there! Feels like I just went through an intense break-up and in dire need of SOME closure (aka September score).

*pulls hair

I'm absolutely with you on that sentiment. I can't find the motivation to study, which is odd. Because after the July LSAT, I was ready immediately to study again. But, this time I feel like I need my score before I can apply myself to studying again. Only a few more days, we can do this!

Me too!! I was motivated to the max, but now it's like....hmmm. haha.

OMG ME!!!! I feel like....should I keep studying?... It's horrible. I've been trying to take practice tests to do a little refresh but I have no motivation. Zero. No, I'm not burnt out just patiently waiting for the most important score in my life!!! I'm so glad that someone posted this!!

Hello,

The first time I signed up for the LSAT I choked and didn't show up. The second time I made it halfway through the LSAT (Today) and choked and also left. I feel like a pretty big embarrassment right now and the LSAT depression has hit hard. It just stinks because I will have to choose a new career and I don't know where to even start as I thought being an attorney was what I was meant to do, but alas it was not. Anyways just needed to vent as no one in my personal life understands the toll that is has taken. Good luck to all of you! If anyone has any words of encouragement (i.e. you'll find what your meant to do!) that would be great.

Hi Brittany,

I read your post and I can definitely relate. It made me sad to read that you said that you would have to choose a new career just because you choked on the LSAT. Just because there is an obstacle in your way doesn't mean that you have to give up entirely.

Law school will be hard and if you are quitting so easily then maybe you're right- this isn't the right path for you. If this is something that you truly truly want then you should fight for it no matter how long it takes. Look at all of the other students who have taken the LSAT multiple times and they finally got the score that they wanted and now they are in law school. I'm sure at times they felt like they couldn't do it as well.

If you really want to go to law school keep practicing and take a bunch of practice tests. Come test day it will seem just like another practice test. If you still feel like you are super anxious then maybe you should talk to someone. I wish you the best of luck :).

The sharp pencil is a must for me! I also have to be wearing my yoga pants and I have to have chapstick on before I take a practice test. I mouth the words a lot so my lips get pretty dry. Also I have to take one sip of water before beginning. I know weird :).

I would like to think that law schools would not care how many times you take the LSAT. I mean almost all of them take the highest score except Harvard/Yale. I have taken the LSAT multiple times and I'm still working on it. When I am comfortable with my score I will definitely write an addendum with my application. I mean...I'm hoping they won't care, because it is what it is and I can't take the multiple LSAT scores off my record. ahhh.
