I found a different reason why B is wrong. B says that road maintenance is funded PRIMARILY by local sales tax. Maybe that means 51% is funded by local sales tax. And sure, for that 51% people with low income bear a disproportional burden. But what if the other 49% were funded by state sales tax. Maybe 100% of that 49% comes from people with high income. Then overall, its possible that people with low income tax do not bear the majority of the burden. Maybe people with high income bear even more burden than them. This possibility makes B incorrect.

Another reason that B is incorrect is because it discusses high speed roadways in general. The conclusion of the argument is very specific in stating that this new law should apply only to level, straight stretches of such roadways. The implications of AC B are too broad.

Some people have stated similar things below, but if you a statistics background, I think it really helps to use that as a framework for understanding this question. The hypothesis (that studying more increases a student's chances of earning a higher grade) can be though of as a direct relationship. As time spent studying goes up, chances of earning a higher grade also go up. Just because the students who spend the most time studying earned lower grades than many students who studied less does not mean that this relationship could not still exist. These top students (and maybe it was only two or three) could have lower a grade than maybe two or three other students. As long as a statistically significant correlation still exists between the two variables, the conclusion can still be properly drawn despite these outliers.

I have had trouble with this type of MSS question because of the fact that it doesn't exactly seem like there is direct support for the correct AC this in the stimulus (i.e. the stimulus doesn't make any prescription as to what kind of behavior a person should partake in). However, for this particular question it helped me to understand that to get the correct AC, you must make the assumption that complications are bad and therefore most likely undesirable. It may seem very obvious, but I'm always very weary of making any assumption at all. However, in this case that assumption leads to the correct AC, because doing something that is known to be harmful based on the stimulus (drinking tea/coffee) is most likely undesirable and should be avoided. I don't like the fact that is seemed like it was necessary to make an assumption here, but I think it was a reasonable one.

Stanford App Optional Essay Question

Hi! Specific question about the Stanford optional essays. I've chosen to do the song one and want to just write the titles of the songs, accompanied by Youtube links, and let them stand on their own. However, the wording of the prompt is making me think that there is a 100 word minimum????? (i.e. "Note that there is a 100 to 250-word limit for each question."). Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!

Seems like dolphins was real > @ said:

1st and 3rd lr were 26 questions sec 4 lr was 25 questions, would assume 3 compared section 1 would be the experimental in which case dolphins section was experimental, but idk, maybe they gave the expiramental as section 1...

For the LR-RC-LR-LR-LG, anyone remember how maybe questions were in the first and second LR respectively? Seems like the first one was experimental.

How to list UG Scholarship on Resume?

Hi all! As I'm working on my resume for applications, I was wondering if anyone had some advice about how to list my UG merit based scholarship. It has a specific name (Coronat Scholar) and with came with full tuition; only about 15 people per year receive it. I'm wondering if it would be better to just simply list "Coronat Scholar" or include some elaboration in a bullet point (like full tuition scholarship). Just not sure if thats considered tacky or if thats actually helpful information to an admissions officer. Thank you in advance!
