still don't understand why C is wrong. the passage states that manufacturing defects arose as a direct consequence of trying to get things done quickly. how is that not completely analogous to C?

The mother bats in this scenario aren't representative members of bats. In fact, they're probably really unrepresentative; they live in only one cave. Think of a poll that draws general conclusions from the answers of only 500 women in Texas; that would obviously be unrepresentative. So too is a group of bats living in this one cave

I'm starting to understand why we went over soooo much formal logic before. It's seriously helping me now.
It doesn't matter much if the policy was clearly explained to him or not. If that's the policy, they will presumably follow it regardless of if it was explained. The gap that we really need to fill is whether or not he was actually the most recently hired person, because that is not included in the premises.
