Most helpful lesson was "Why School X" Essays. I did not know that if offered you should definitely write these

Yes, that is what the argument is saying, it should be classified with the 'short' GRBs, but not labeled 'short'. The stimulus states that the GRB's duration is long, but it has properties of a short GRB, thus the labels 'short' and 'long' are bad. The specific GRB is similar to other 'short' GRBs except in duration, so they should be labeled not 'short' GRBs but rather a different category representing other properties alluded to in (C)

@ unlike supernovice I went with the visible-light spectrum (optical) telescope. Radio data is a lot harder to process and analyze and the optical data would be way easier to implement into a class. It being the LSAT though you could argue either way though, so who am I to say

@ - definitely ok to talk about telescopes instead of observatories. I used them interchangeably throughout my essay. (I am in my 6th year of an Astronomy PhD program.) Also definitely good that you did not write astrology, very common mistake but very different things!

PS + Resume Swap

Already thanks to the feedback of some great 7sagers I have rewritten my personal statement. Now I need some feedback on my latest version. Is anyone wanting to do a personal statement swap?

My resume also needs review. I have a science background and currently it contains a lot of jargon. I need to decide what to keep in while not taking away the meaning of an entry. If anyone would like to do a resume swap please let me know.

Thank you 7sage for this kind of group feedback! The discussion board and admissions course has really helped guide me in how to approach applications.

Thanks for the feedback. I really like 7sage and would definitely recommend it over other courses (I took Testmasters previously), but I think the RC CC could definitely use some work, especially in terms of organization.

It looks like this method could be useful, so if I end up testing again in November I will try using it. But for the time being without practicing I think you are right @ that it would actually be more time consuming.

Reading Comp Split Passage Method - CC Lesson?

It seems the preferred method is to read passage A, go through questions, then read passage B, then finish questions.

Did I miss a core curriculum lesson? From what I can tell this is not really taught until answer explanations for the later PTs.

I am taking September LSAT and by the time I found this method I did not want to switch to this with so little time left to practice it. I think it would be very beneficial to make a lesson explaining this method early on in the RC core curriculum. (Unless their already is?)

@ and @ please let me know if you would like to swap your PS with me as well. I have not had too many people read mine yet and need some more feedback and would be happy to give some as well.

"who cares?" -JY

The more I get better at recognizing when to say this the better I get at this test. So much of the LSAT is recognizing when to say this and to say it quickly. One of the best parts of this course is JY's demeanor towards the test.

@ yes I'm taking September. I'm going to try to take at least 2 preptests per week from here on out.

I got this wrong because I thought all 5 answers were wrong. I don't think this question would be on a current LSAT

@ Timing is definitely what gets me. However, my latest test I was able to finish the whole section. I was frustrated with JY's memory method at first, but it seems to be working well now.

Yes, I sometimes freeze after the game board setup, it's a terrible feeling and has happened to me even on the easy games when I've missed an obvious inference. I think doing the fool proofing really helped though. I need to do more fool proofing of the newer games.

@ I have been having trouble staying consistent with RC and LG. I did the LG Core Curriculum and improved a lot, but lacked on the RC sections. Then I recently did the RC CC and on my latest preptest did the best I've ever done on RC, but did poorly on LG... so need to get both consistent.

As for LR I have been having trouble getting above the -4/5 mark. I am consistently getting right around there and haven't improved in awhile.

I was planning on doing PT 72 soon anyway, I will plan to take it Saturday, and should be able to spend some time BRing on Sunday.
