I'm now realizing that "fail" is an intransitive verb meaning it can be complete without an object. "Like" is a transitive verb, meaning it an object. https://www.grammarly.com/blog/parts-of-speech/transitive-and-intransitive-verbs/ #feedback

I actually agree here, I thought that "the bacteria" would be the object as well. I was very confused seeing the bacteria labeled as a modifier. Aren't predicates typically a verb + object? #feedback
