Personal Statement Help

For the personal statement should one write

A- a certain factor/story that affected someone greatly and provided tools to help them succeed as a lawyer

or

B- have a personal statement that contains multiple stories of a persons life that shaped them instead of one factor/story

JY, very very grateful that you do this, however sometimes I feel as if these aren’t as helpful. I think going in order with answer choices and pointing out quick flaws helps more. Feels like we spend 45 mins on one question. Very grateful for your guidance though!

Hi everyone, sadly the group is closed now, we have a lot of people in it already. I would encourage everyone to keep looking at the discussion boards! Groups are forming every week! Best of luck to all!

Hi JY! Thanks for doing this. Is there a chance you will be doing BR for LR sections soon too? I think that would really help.

They take some time to understand and grasp. I would recommend if you find that youre spending more than a min or two on one question when doing a LR section, skip it, move on, and come back to it. Ive found that coming back to a question and reading it over again can help you grasp it better rather than trying over and over to understand it the first time. You will get there, just gotta keep pushing. and even if you go back to it and still cant get it, dont fret, just use the question bank to see what type of question it is (ex: main point, flaw, etc) and go back to those lessons to help you!

could someone help me understand why A is wrong? would it also be because it explains a portion of the main conclusions while D gets the whole picture? #help

Hey. You’re in the same shoes I am. I take it September and after I finished the CC my first PT was 160 (diagnostic was 144). It’s doable but you need to make sure that you’re not overworking yourself burning yourself out.i study 5 hours a day (min) like you!

The best tip to help burnout for me at least, is to keep my nights clear. Finish up before dinner and then spend the rest of the night winding down and relaxing a bit. Watch a movie, take a break. Also, take a break in the middle of your study sessions to grab a snack and cool off for a bit. Burn out is real.

Focus on the lessons. Drill whatever section you’re weak on. You have time. And you CAN do this. Never forget that you can do this and it will be okay.

Your first practice exam after completing the CC won’t necessarily be the score you want, but do not be discouraged. Use that as a way to see what you missed and drill those sections. If you ever need a study buddy, I’m here!

Study groups and BR calls are incredible tools! Use them to your advantage.

Best of luck. Never forgot that you can do this!

Best way to study?

Just finished all the lessons. Would the best thing for me to do is to take PT after PT?

Is 2-3 PT a week good or too much? I study a min of 5 hours a day and I’m hoping to get a score of 169 in September.

Also, when should I start drilling the lessons again?

What is CC?

I keep seeing everyone talk about the CC method and blind review (BR).

What is the CC method, how can it be applied, and is it somehow better than blind review?

Certificate on Applications

For splitters applying to T-14 schools, (borderline GPA, good LSAT score) do certificates look good on applications? My school doesnt offer a major/minor in Pre-law so instead I enrolled in a pre law certificate and will complete it my last semester of college (spring 2020) Does enrollment in the certificate look good? Can It help push splitters to acceptance?

High score with LSAT starter course?

Just wondering if anybody who has had the LSAT starter course was able to get a 168 or higher. If so, what are some of your tips? Would love to hear your experiences towards a 168+

Looking for study groups

Hey everyone! I will be taking my LSAT in September of this year and would like to form a group or join an existing group in order to better prep. The goal of this group would be to provide each other with insight on lessons and topics we are struggling to understand and just to overall review on the lessons. Please lmk if anyone would like to join OR if they have a group available that I could join! :)

When to apply?

Does applying early hurt your chances if you don’t have the exact requirements they’re asking for?

My dream school is Duke law and its a challenging school to get into. I have the borderline GPA and I’m hoping that when I take my LSAT in September, I will get a high enough score to get into. Would applying early to duke get me a better chance of getting in, or would somewhere in the middle (thanksgiving , early December) time be better?
