Hey guys I would love to be able to BR with y'all but I can't do Wednesday nights. I know the Saturday ones exist and I plan on doing those. Is there a possibility to move the midweek BR group to a different day or is that set in stone? @

If that is not feasible no worries.

Breaking 165+

Hey guys just want to say I appreciate this community of 7sagers. It's encouraging to know we are all in this battle together. That being said to those who are consistently scoring in the high 165+ and 170s, what helped you break into that range? I am currently averaging between 161-165 and am BR'ing thoroughly. I noticed on some of my LR questions I second guess my gut instinct and my first choice ends up being right. I also have improved a lot in my LG section. RC has remained stagnant, where I only get about 70-75% right. Just trying to get some solid tips on how to get into that high 168-169 range. Appreciate it.

Hey Chels if there's one thing that has helped me out is understanding the nature of this exam and to not let my self worth or identity come from my score on it. This exam is a beast and I am learning to respect it as such.

I think a drastic, but rewarding measure I took was to quit my job so I can focus on this test full time. I am currently living off my savings. This might not be ideal for you but I know that it has helped me tremendously to concentrate on it and to make the time to take the preptests and to truly understand the Core Curriculum, which is essential. You will not progress very far without a proper understanding of the logic and fundamentals in the curriculum.

Stay positive in light of all this and continue to work hard. You want honest optimism accompanied by effective and meaningful productivity. Mentally, the LSAT is one of the most challenging things I've done, but I am actually at a point where I enjoy learning all of this crazy reasoning and fast paced inferences that need to be made.

Finally, when I took my first PT after months of reviewing the core curriculum I got the same score I did in my diagnostic. I was crushed. What helped me get through that was a hard 2hr+ lifting session and an attitude of this is bull: I WILL NOT let this be the case. I took another test the very next day and my score jumped significantly and has remained around that area ever since.

Hope this helps.

December 2016 Blind Review Group

Can anyone point me in the right direction to the December 2016 Blind Review Group? I don't know if one has been set up yet, although I do know there is currently a group for the September 2016 test. Would certainly appreciate it. Thanks

"The PowerScore LSAT Logic Games: Game Type Training publication provides you with the complete text of every LSAT Logic Game from LSAT PrepTests 1 through 20."

https://www.cambridgelsat.com/bookstore/?azdp=0982661827

I probably will buy this and use it strictly for the questions and ignore everything PowerScore teaches. Really like 7Sage's curriculum so far and approach to LG.

Logic Games Bundle

I know that the Logic Games Bundle doesn't appear anymore on 7sage but where can I go purchase them? Do I have to get LSATs 1-35 and do it that way?

On both my first attempt and BR attempt I skipped over the CANNOT be true and thought this was a MBT question so I picked B. Read each question carefully!

Insight on large disparity in recent scores

Good morning guys. Was hoping I can get some insight on a recent phenomena I encountered on my last 3 PT scores.

A week ago I was so excited to have finally broken 170+. I got a 173 on PT 30. I think I must have gotten cocky or overconfident because on the next test I did (PT 54) I got a 160! My most recent test was PT 21, which was a 172.

Has this ever happened to anyone of you? I'm a little concerned since we pretty much have a week till game day so I just want to see what loose ends I can tie up. I know that my mindset of being cocky may have had a large impact. Any suggestions as to how I can be more consistent in staying in the 170 range would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

23. A – Who cares what types of lightning it causes other than ball lightning? The assumption lies in that the ball lightning he saw has the same cause as the ball lightning caused by superheated plasma in which electrical resistance is a factor.

B – Irrelevant to our argument.

C – No, this assumption actually weakens the argument and does not help it to follow logically.

D – Irrelevant

E – Correct. If all types of ball lightning have the same cause, then yes this argument makes sense because it identifies the assumption being made.

21. A – Motive is not to benefit other people but to benefit leader’s chance of being reelected.

B – Does not succeed.

C – Correct. Proposition mentions evidence, benefiting other people, performing the act to benefit other people, and succeeding in that endeavor. In this answer choice, the evidence is overhearing heating contractor say that regularly changing the filter in a furnace helps to keep the furnace efficient. Benefiting other people is the fact that Betsy changed the filter in her daughter’s house. Success is shown in that it never required maintenance.

D – We do not know if there was success or not in the outcome.

E – There is no evidence that psychotherapy could help parents, just a “hope” that it would.

20. A – Wrong subject. We want to know about people with specialized knowledge about a scientific or technical issue, not those without it. Required to make assumption that just because "commoners" won't understand the issue at hand, that jurors that do understand the issue at hand with more specialized knowledge will still be fair.

B – Correct. This answer choice correctly weakens the argument by giving a reason as to why they are being systematically excluded from juries for trials, and deals with the issue of “fairness”, as opposed to answer choice A which does not. Doing the action prescribed by answer choice B does make it more fair, thereby removing support from the conclusion.

C – Who cares? No one is talking about arbitrators.

D – Requires us to make the assumption that people who have specialized knowledge about a scientific or technical issue can be considered “experts”

E – Irrelevant

What if this was a necessary assumption question? Where the question was "The conclusion drawn by the professor requires which following assumption?" How would it change our answer choice?

Hey thank you for sharing this. My diagnostic was a 155 and I am getting discouraged since the last two PTs I took were both 155 as well, doesn't seem to be improving.. Great job on that awesome score!
