Wonderful advice! Two thumbs up.
Hey, incase you mean you WANT to label these flaws and don't know what to call them, then Mike Kim in Trainer has categorised flaws quite easily. If you have already read the trainer and are still confused about which categories they fall in then here is my understanding of them.
1. A Piece is not a Puzzle flaw: here the argument overvalues - a trait, an opinion and/or a sample set. The evidence used to support the conclusion is just one part of the bigger picture. (mistaking necessary for sufficient)
2. 1+1 is not equal to 3 flaw: here the author brings two ideas or two pieces of information together to conclude something that may not be correct. ( correlation does not imply causation).
I could be wrong but thats what i understood from it. :)
Congrats Nicole! You deserve it. :)
@jy-ping hilarious and useful at the same time. The second part is Spot on! Love the use of funny unique terms and a storyline. Most important take "Nobody builds a house. They just put one brick after another".
And while we are at it,here is another resource that might be of some help. The table she makes to figure out the root cause is ingenious. http://www.vox.com/2016/3/4/11147432/immunity-to-change
@tanes25413 Where have you been till now?! I suffer from the same issues. My distractions are different but...Good luck to you my friend ! I am getting back at it as well. It is so exhausting going through the same cycles over and over again but hey giving up is worse. :)
Did i mention our goals are the same as well?! FREAKY.
JY was on a roll.
John oliver though - LOL
Thanks for taking time out to write this.Would love to hear more.
Doesn't apply to me but this is so AWESOME!
Spot on advice by @wraith985-4026
Would benefit many people to keep this in mind. :)
@cverdugo698 Good one. :)
Such amazing and positive advice here (especially @rcscoggins486 ) Two Thumbs Up!
@ngir1293288 I don't want to repeat what has already been said so far. But, I have to repeat this-different people learn at different speeds depending upon their background and situations. You have so far, just been successful in all your endeavours. So not getting (great) results after putting so much of work can be especially frustrating. But most of the tests in life are about your mindset and determination. If you let yourself get dejected you have no chance at all. Three things:
1. Its a cliche but one that is a 100% true. Failure (don't know if we should even call it that) is the best teacher. Its actually a blessing. From my experiences i think i learnt the MOST through them. Sometimes the worst thing that can happen to you is "success". It happened to me and in the long run i realized it was bad for me.
2. A lot of the times (i have noticed) what sets people apart, is the WAY they study. People don't pay a lot of attention to their study methods. It seems very simplistic but "the devil is in the details". Try and see how and where you can make changes in yours.
3. Also, I think there must be things in the core course that you can improve upon. Focus on the fundamentals and How you can master them. I am trying to do same. :)
One last thing, since there is so much of negativity within you you should definitely try meditation. It will help in a lot of the other things as well.
I am just another fellow LSATER and not an expert. So please ignore me if you think my advice isn't right. Good luck to you! :)
@salmaghalyoun909 Great advice.
Thats amazing! Congrats to you. :)
Awesome you guys! Congrats.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone. Have been reading the comments so far. Hope you all are happy and over the moon! To those who are going for a retest we are in this together. And to those who aren't happy with their scores, this is not the end of the world. Things will work out.
As far as i know, yes you can take the exam (as long as you have paid for it). Its upto you when you make a list of schools you wish to apply, when you send your transcripts, your LOR's and SOP's to LSAC and so on.
LSAC makes a file which has your transcripts, lsat score etc in it. To make it lsac charges you a fee (one time) which is the CAS fee. You have to pay Lsac to release it to each school. So basically you pay the application fee plus the lsat report fee for each school. I am guessing you are not a US citizen (like me) and therefore ineligible for LSAT fee waiver. We can of course write to each school to ask for an application fee waiver.
Hope this helped. :)
IMHO, a month's time is insufficient to make a huge improvement in the score. All the experts say that in the final few weeks you should be averaging around your target score. If you feel you are not close to your target score you should reconsider giving the exam in feb. I know delaying is such a pain but a take should ideally not be wasted. Hope this helps. :)
Yeah trainer did the same for me I.e. break the monotony @tanes25413
@g1oriaaa734 Another reason for you to get the trainer (if you havnt already) is it's RC section. Everyone keeps saying it has helped them alot. Plus, now that you have a base it might just help fill any gaps you have.
wow! congrats nicole. :D
