1. I audit Native American Tribal Governments. I was the CFO for a chain of community health clinics providing low-to-no cost medical/dental care for several years, and still assist part-time. I had great childhood on the family farm and a great fondness for helping others - usually through cooking (who doesn't love food?).

2. LSAT Score/Letters of Recommendation

3. I don't particularly like talking about the bad times. So I'd enjoy a happier topic like (a) hobby of dog showing or (b) helping some out and the later unexpected reciprocity.

I agree with lenoreludlow. My experience is in finance and I always remind people that higher ranked college have a sticker price of maybe $200,000 in tuition and fees, but also have a 6%-9% interest rate attached that starts from day one the loan is taken out. That means you have to find a job that pays big bucks that probably isn't in public interest...and you'll need to work that job for a long time to pay it off, unless you wealthy wife or uncle on the side. Those student loan payments start exactly 6 months after graduating.

LSAC Transcript Issue

I'm looking for advice on how to work with the LSAC on transcripts. I've taken the LSAT, and I have my resume, personal statements, and applications ready for submission before a November 15th scholarship priority deadline. I had all 3 of the prior colleges I have attended submit transcripts. One of the colleges listed a 2 credit course I tested out of as "Other". The LSAC has interpreted this as meaning the 2 credits are transferred from another University and has listed as an "Unknown" 4th College on my LSAC account.

I called and emailed the LSAC who stated to send a revised transcript. Fair enough. I called the University's Registrar about the situation who stated they would send the revised transcript if I sent in a new transcript request form. Three weeks later I called the LSAC and asked if they had received my transcript, and they had not. I emailed the University's Registrar Office and asked if they would please send the revised transcript. The registrar stated she would not send revised or altered transcripts for any purpose. So, I re-called the LSAC. The representative stated they would only accept a revised transcript. I have forwarded the Registrar's email to the LSAC and patiently awaiting a reply on what I'm suppose to do...

Is there a simpler way to go about this? Has anyone experienced transcript issues or known someone experiencing transcript issues before?

I'd agree there is room for a couple points of improvement over the next month. And it depends on your university of choice. The colleges I'm looking at will take the higher of your scores, but frown up taking the test more than twice.

I have a 55 hour a week job and moved my original PT score from 150 to 162 in 3 months studying 10-15 hours a week. I kept thinking I could have got it higher if I would have studied more but I tried increasing the study time for 2 weeks and started getting burnt out. A part-time job would have been nice, but income is nice too.

I always like to say it depends on people's life situations, how encouraging family and friends are, how social, etc. I would consider how much salary/benefit/experience would be lost. If you have the means to be part-time, it would of course help you reach a goal to get into your college of choice or obtain a good scholarship.

You could absolutely get a higher score. I originally scheduled to take the June LSAT but was terrible at staying focused under normal timed conditions. So I paid the $90 fee and postponed til September. It definitely helped my score.

I think working on handling the stress of the lsat would do alot a good and you could definitely get a better score.

I think the decision of having a gap year depends on your situation. I have a 5 year gap and tried out an entirely different career path. I think it was great experience for both work and life. It also opened up doors that wouldn't otherwise be there.

I was wondering the same thing since I had a few I changed, like 6 or so. I can see what answers I erased clearly on the scanned exam, but the correct mark was much darker and always picked up by the machine.

Study Week for September LSAT

With the September LSAT knocking on the front door, I planned a week of vacation away from work about 2 weeks before the exam, with the goal of reducing any work-related stress to have better focus. What is the best plan of attack for September studying? Do a few PTs, but nothing too new? Focus on fine tuning reading comprehensive (my lowest scoring area)? Go on vacation, get a great tan, and try not to think about it?

LSAC does good setting a test release date they consistently meet or exceed (with one bad year). I'd rather know it's coming by the 20th than expect it on the 18th and be thrown off by a late notice. Whether it's released 2 days early or on-time probably doesn't change the end result of alot of plans - and it's great practice on patience for a legal career of working with clients.

The schools I toured said don't work during your first year of law school unless you absolutely need to. Working during 2nd and 3rd year seemed like a personal preference, but 20 hours or less during the school year.

I stood in a long check-in line with a couple individuals whose pictures printed blurry. One had quite a bit of white space and printed sideways...and it didn't seem to matter.

Looks pretty good. In skimming through it, I would ask why you left the University of Texas. Was it just a semester, was there an interesting reason why you transferred, etc...

Confirm action

Are you sure?
