The schools I toured said don't work during your first year of law school unless you absolutely need to. Working during 2nd and 3rd year seemed like a personal preference, but 20 hours or less during the school year.
@stepharizona288 I wouldn't worry too much about this question, as schools are aware of the difficulty in predicting this. Just make a guess at what you think you would do, and - if answering yes - don't put too many hours.

I believe you can only work up to 20 hours a week as a 1L according to the ABA. Is the question for a part time program?
I know a few schools do not allow 1Ls to work at all.
