Hi @ ! I am looking to sit for the August exam as well. @ and I have been in contact and are looking to start studying ASAP. We are on EST though so for me it would be 8:30pm which I am okay with but I don't know @ 's schedule if you want to get in contact and we can see about setting something up. =)

The thing that helped me the most was reading Elle Cassidy's book: Loophole in Logical Reasoning. The chapter on translation is especially helpful. Learning to translate the stimulus and pre-phrasing are the main skills that allowed me to go from -5 per LR section to -1 per LR section on test day. In addition, I found it very helpful to develop a 'checklist' of one to two items per LR question type so that I would quickly know my task for each question type before I went into the answer choices. For example, for 'role in argument' questions my 'checklist' is: "A, CR". Where A stands for Accurate description (usually the first part of each answer choice) and the CR stands for Correct Role. If the first part of the answer choice is not accurate description then you can kill that answer without reading any further. For the answer choice (s) that begin with an accurate description, keep reading the second part of and verify that the second part describes the 'Correct Role' (i.e. make sure that every word in the second part is correct). There are 17 question types in LR and you can develop a one or two step checklist for each question type. The checklist should be very simple as a complicated checklist is likely to be forgotten on test day with the anxiety and stress of test day. The goal is to have a checklist that works 85-90% of the time as a checklist that works a 100% of the time would be too long and unwieldly. Hope this helps. Happy to share my checklist is anyone wants to use mine as a template for making their own.

Hi Ravinder! Would you mind sharing your check list? This sounds like such a great idea!

Thank you

I was having this same issue when I made the switch from paper to digital. I will agree, that at first it was time consuming, however, I do all my practice sections digitally now and I found I have become faster at highlighting and underlining in this format. It is very helpful with maintaining accuracy as Kkole said.

Best of luck! =)

Hey Daniel! Welcome! This community is fantastic. Many inspiring and motivational success stories.

I have a similar story to yours in that I did not fair too well my first go at college. I did not take it as seriously as I should have. I didn't do terrible but seeing as I have high goals now I realize my past caught up to me a bit, but never too late! My second attempt at college was much better and I was able to bring my GPA up but my past still affected my cumulative GPA so that stinks a bit. So here I am shooting for a 170+ hopefully! I plan on taking November also so we will see how that goes!

Best of luck and to answer your question, I def think you have a good shot!

If I start in 2020 as planned I will be 32. I was always hard on myself for starting so late but I learned to value the life experience I have had thus far and it is never too late!

Pride Aside, Doing it right this time!

This may be more of a therapeutic post than an informative one but maybe it will help some who are in the same boat! =)

I initially registered to take the February 2016 LSAT. I was a full time college student and thought a few months and I would absolutely be ready to take on this beast. Little did I know how much of a beast this exam actually is. As the test date approached I realized how unprepared I was and decided to postpone until June. With all the excitement of graduation and finishing the last hurdle of my final semester, I was again unprepared for the June exam and postponed AGAIN until September. Here it is, now the end of August and I have been back at work full time since graduation and have not dedicated nearly enough time to this. I thought about postponing again until December but reading a few posts on here and finally waking up, I decided to cancel my September exam and I will not be registering for the exam until I feel absolutely ready! (June 2017 is my secret, not so secret anymore, goal though, hehe).

This was a difficult decision to make for me. I put restrictions on myself such as "By the time I am 30 I want to be........" And have finally realized how unnecessary and detrimental that is. Putting off law school for another year and a half, two years is scary but I want to give myself the best chance possible and that's what we all need to do...allow ourselves the best chance to reach our max potential regardless of how long it may take. We are worth that!

So here I am, end of August, not registered for the LSAT, re-starting the 7Sage course and feeling thrilled about it. =)

Study Method Question

Hello all!

So I recently started the 7Sage Curriculum from the beginning again and I also have Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer. My question is, would it better to go through the 7Sage curriculum first and then focus on the LSAT Trainer, or could I do both simultaneously? I dont want to do anything that may be detrimental when it comes to how best to prepare. Also, if I do both simultaneously, is it in my best interest to only do the same topic in the Trainer as I am doing in 7Sage or would it be okay to work on different areas? Thanks for the advice and help!

Note Taking

This may seem like a silly question, but how do you all prefer to take notes? Do you go old school with pen and paper or type up notes? Is one way more efficient than the other?

Study Habits

Hey everyone!

I am trying to find the best way to study and I was wondering if it is best to study one section (LG, LR, RC) at a time or is it okay to study multiple sections at time?

Is the LSAT Starter sufficient

Hello all!

I am taking the LSAT in February and I am on a very tight budget but was wondering if the LSAT Starter is sufficient? Will it only be helpful for easy question sets or will I be able to utilize the skills in the LSAT Starter to sufficiently solve difficult problem sets as well? My concern is not being able to master difficult problems on the exam.

Advice/Opinions on my second take

Hi all!

So, I am trying to make a decision on whether to take the April exam or push it to a later date. It would be my second take. The April exam I signed up for was free because I have not yet used my free take and the latest date I could sign up for and use it was the April exam. My dilemma is, I know I will not be fully ready to take April but I am wondering if I should do it anyway since it was a free exam and could be a practice round or would it look bad to have that extra take on my transcript? Would it be better to just cancel it and take the exam when I am fully ready and not have that extra take? Thoughts/Opinions?

Thank you all and Happy studying!
