Hi @

I gather you are referring to the "Eye" icon that reveals that answer key when you hover your cursor in the Question Bank.

If so, I'll pass this on to my team for consideration.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

I was very happy to read this section, but I'm wondering if you might be able to refine the advice a little more. I just looked, and even were I to limit this practice to those games ranked as "medium" hard, i.e., do every "medium" game until I can do each one within the time limit and "own" the game, I'd still need to do it on 89 games (as there are 89 games ranked "medium" in the database.) Yikes.

Do you have any further advice by any chance?

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

Is it possible to brute force most of the time instead of making worlds? Is it possible to just make inferences/deductions and go for the questions. Some times I can make worlds and it makes sense but some other times, I'll watch and rewatch JY's videos and the worlds don't stick with me. What should I do? Just go about it the way that feels most comfortable and use the videos as a guide or just try and train my mind to how he teaches it?

Thanks

Is there any extra advice you can give me on weakening questions? I have researched them numerous times, but on the last problem sets I feel like I have been completely guessing. One thing I have learned has been to find the assumption, and if you are told to weaken the argument then state that assumption; however, if you are to strengthen the argument, find that assumption and your answer will be the choice that states it and clarifies it so it is no longer an issue. Even with this advice, I still cannot seem to do it. Maybe I am struggling with finding the assumption? Or maybe whenever I read the questions I get overwhelmed? Regardless, weakening questions are destroying me right now and I feel helpless.

Hi @,

Thank you so much for pointing out the problem with the order of the question links.

We have rolled out a fix. You should now be able to see the question explanation links in chronological order.

However, please let us know if you are still having trouble, or if you have any questions.

Hello, Prior to to beginning my LSAT study journey on 7Sage, i completed 7 LSAT exams on the LSAC Test Prep Plus. Specifically they were exams 75-77, 79-80. I completed 3/4 parts using assimilated flex. I also completed 1 LR section of Preptest 74. I aim to take exams 37-89. What advise would you have on these exams. Do i re-do the exams or skip them and complete the exams i have not taken?

"I have a strange question and some unique circumstances, and I would appreciate your discernment. I am an active duty air force officer, and I purchased the premium package last year (planning on testing this past spring and fall).

Here's the meat of my question- when should I plan to prep for the LSAT? I want to devote at least 6-12 months preparing rigorously, but I chose not to do that this year as soon as I found out I couldn't apply for this fall. My fear is that I will prep for 12 months, rock the lsat, only to have a score I can't use for another 7 years (therefore making it irrelevant).

My premium membership I was grandfathered into expires next week, and I do not know whether to extend, choose to prep for a year, test, and save my scores for 5 years, or if I am better off losing my membership, and restarting once I receive career-field release.

Do you have any thoughts on this? Will a score that is 3 or 4 years old look bad?"

Posting on Behalf of a 7Sage User: Learning Games

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

"Hello!

Could you please offer some advice as to how I can best utilize 7sages premium Curriculum to get better at games? Because I think there is a study plan available within the account to aid me in getting better at my accuracy, comprehension, and consequently my timing in games. I’m doing fine in reading comprehension and logic reasoning, but for some reason I’m not doing good enough in games yet. So I need to somehow customize and tailor my learning in a way where I can learn games thoroughly. I can do ordering games fine and the type with the conditional chains but sometimes grouping and hybrids take a while for me to understand. I need something I can follow along with and track my progress for LG. So far I can do almost two games in the 35 minutes. I thought about starting with the first prep test and working my way up on games throughout all the sections and then hopefully by like the 60s, I would be good enough to start timing myself but someone told me that was not the best way to proceed because games from the earlier prep tests are not a reliable indicator of how games are today. So if that’s not the appropriate way to learn and drill games, then do you have any suggestions for me? Do you have any advice for me please?

Thank you"

Hi @,

We don't have an option to mark questions with a "Star", but if you are referring to lessons in the Syllabus, you can find all starred lessons by typing "star" in the Instant filter.

See the screenshot below:

If you've been "pinning" Logical Reasoning and Logic Game questions in the results table after taking a PrepTest, you can find those pinned questions in your Analytics.

If you pinned Logical Reasoning questions, these pinned questions will also show up in the Question Bank with a pin icon next to it.

Unfortunately, the pin feature is not available for Logic Games and Reading Comprehension problem sets. This is because Logic Games and Reading Comprehension problem sets are done on a per game/passage basis. Pinned questions only show up for Logical Reasoning, because Logical Reasoning is done on a per question basis.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi @,

Yes, you can manually enter your answers in an answer sheet by converting the PrepTests to the paper format. You can then save and score your PrepTests. Here's how you can do it:

Navigate to the PrepTests then choose the PrepTest you want to score. Tap the "Convert" button.

After you "convert" the PrepTest from digital to paper, you may now enter your answers on the Answer Sheet. Once you're done, tap the big "Save and Score LSAT" blue button at the bottom of the Answer Sheet to score your answers.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know.

What would you do if you do not have an option to make a note or low res on the LSAT test in regards to RC since it is a long passage to remember all details ? I have seen Mr. JY explanation on RC and the way he is doing it but I do not know how to make it easy .

Hi @,

Sorry for the trouble! This sounds frustrating.

I tried to reproduce both issues on my end, but I'm afraid I was not able to.

Issue 1 - The black box for the timing automatically hides whenever I move my cursor away from each question in the Timing column.

See GIF below:

Issue 2 - The lines for incorrect answers are changing in the chart as I change the option from "Individual" and "Stacked".

See GIF below:

I want to figure this out as soon as I can so that you can focus on studying. To help do that, can you try using a different web browser (e.g. Firefox, etc.) to see if it helps?

"I am reviewing the writing prompt from LSAT 84 and I am a little confused. For this prompt, am I arguing for one bullet point and either the Canton or the Fuller space? Or, both bullet points and the either the Canton or Fuller space? I’m just curious because I read one writing response in which the test taker argued for the two bullet points and only one of the following points (i.e. Canton or Fuller).

I am aware I need to point out the strengths and the weaknesses in my argument, and the exact same in the opposing argument, while reaffirming my argument in end."

(Posted on behalf of @t-skyjade)

First of all, I’d like to shout out to @Theo for publishing my thoughts for me as I’m currently unable to do so. This is my very first post after reading so many Discussion posts, and I’m here to seek resonance, advice, or any feedback you may have.

I’m Chinese born and raised, and I spent the past 8 years in the States for high school and college. I went to a very prestigious business school in New England and didn’t have the idea of going to law school until the end of my senior year. It’s been almost a full year that I have been studying for the LSAT full-time, and I started in the low 150- range. After going through all the Core Curriculum and taking more than 30 PTs, I’m now in the low to mid 160s, with BR scores that are in the 170 range consistently. As far as I’m happy seeing the progress, I feel like that I’ve been in the 160 bottleneck for too long and yearning to break it. I tend to miss 0-3 questions on LG, an average of 6-7 on LR, and 9 or 10 or sometimes more on RC…I know, RC is my weakest section and I have been reading additional, “extracurricular” readings on my own and redoing old RC passages from the past. In addition, I recently purchased the LSAT Trainer book by Mike Kim, and I honestly hope that I’ll get myself to the 170s before the October exam. If any of you have some advice on breaking the 170 curve, please, let me know what it is. Because all this time, I’ve been doing what I think is necessary to improve my score yet not knowing if it’s sufficient to do so.

At the same time, as you all know, the world is a volatile place due to COVID and China has canceled/not administered pretty much all of the LSAT exams from January to October. Even though pretty much other standardized tests are now back running, the country has canceled the January and March exams and I have received specific answers from LSAC that the October exam will not be administered in mainland China. I’ve been wishing to take the exam in other Asian countries, but currently, there’s the travel ban that makes it almost impossible to get your visa to travel abroad, let alone plane tickets. I’ve had my eye on a Southern Asian country and hoping the consulate will start taking visa requests soon this month so I can register for October exam prior to the deadline, but I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen if they don’t. I could wait until January, but I fear of losing the advantage of not applying early. The anxiety of having to wait for another application cycle eats me up, while every day I try to be resilient and cope with it by doing more studying. But I know I have to give myself an answer, which I’m unable to provide, and so the anxiety reappears.

Besides the feedback loop from hell, there’s some other thing that I would like to share. I keep my plan of going to law school very secretive and only a few of my closest friends know, as a way to protect my dream and I for a lot of people don’t understand why I want to overcome all the obstacles and become an American lawyer. People coming out of my undergrad college tend to go into finance, consulting, or other high-paying, fast-return jobs while I struggle getting my dream score on a standardized test. I tentatively told one person whom I thought was my friend of my law school plan and he belittled me to death. During quarantine this spring, he constantly told me “you are not going to make it”, “why aren’t you out there looking for real jobs”, “you still haven’t given up huh?”, “do you really think you could take the exam post-quarantine?”, and he even said “I’m treating you like this because you have not succeeded yet.” I cut that guy loose but those words traumatized me so much. Studying for the LSAT has been hard enough, and it’s really my dream of becoming a lawyer that makes me sit in front of my desk for 40-50 hours a week and do one PT every other day. It really hurts for someone whom you once considered a friend to trample something you cherish & enamored so much. It also made me realize that I need to protect my dream and shield it with my whole heart. A lot of times, I browse the “success stories” on the Discussion Forum with tears in my eyes, seek courage from people I’ve never met, know they’d understand me, and show me the benefit of doubt as time will prove my progress.

It’s been a difficult time as I get anxious and confused from time to time, but overall, I try to keep my composure and focus on what I ought to do. Luckily, I have noble friends that I can count on, very supportive parents and an extremely strong drive from within. I really have left myself with no backup plan. I don’t simply want to go to law school. I crave it. I dream of it. Every day, I hope there’s an easy way out for me and I could become a lawyer before I turn 30. Yet there’s nothing I hate more than victimizing myself despite that life gets tough sometimes. So it’s been hard reconciling with myself from time to time. Yet, I still try using other people’s words to encourage myself. One of my favorite quotes from the show A Series of Unfortunate Events is “how do we learn to give up in the face of all-powerful? We can never give up. You can never give up if you find yourself in terrible circumstances. You must keep struggling. You must struggle until you find a safe place to live. You must struggle until you find noble and reliable friends. Struggle. And struggle. Until the world can see who you really are.”

(And that’s when little Sunny comes up and takes down Count Olaf.)

I totally didn’t mean to use an analogy to compare myself to Sunny Baudelaire and the LSAT to Count Olaf.

If any of you is looking for a study buddy, please reach out to my email tskyjade@outlook.com

Thank you all very much.

Hi @,

LSAC requires that every student who wants to use a prep course that uses real LSAT questions must have an active LSAC Prep Plus subscription. That includes us, 7Sage, and any other LSAT prep course that uses real LSAT questions.

Without an LSAC Prep Plus subscription, you won't be able to access parts of our Ultimate+ subscription course that show the licensed materials including the PrepTests and explanation videos. I'm afraid this is LSAC policy and we don't have a say in this.

Note that you only need one LSAC Prep Plus subscription no matter how many prep courses you use. That means that if you use prep courses from multiple companies, you don't need to purchase multiple LSAC Prep Plus accounts. You can use the same one.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.

Admin Note: I am adding the post of @ below, which is also about PT93.S2.Q19:

Missed this question and thought I'd post in case this helps anyone else.

Stimulus:

New course approved next year -> Committee received OR Dean Wilson received

Dean Wilson received 1 course proposal

Committee received -> Upper-level courses

Upper-level courses -> Pre-requisites.

Answer Choices:

A) We don't know that there won't be any new courses next year that have pre-reqs. What if the course Dean Wilson received has pre-reqs and is not an upper-level course. We know that Upper-level courses have pre-reqs. and don't know if other courses have pre-reqs.

B.) We don't know anything about the approvals and how many have been approved. We have no idea whether or not the proposals received will be approved. We just know IF they're approved, the committee or the Dean will have reviewed them.

C) Yes, if there is more than 1, for example 2 courses then at least one will have pre-reqs. because we know the Dean only received one, so the other must be received by the committee. And we know the committee only received Upper-level courses which must have pre-reqs. So we know at least one will have pre-reqs because the committee will have received it.

D) All courses offered next year will have pre-reqs.. Not supported, we only know about new-courses approved next year and that are upper-level..

E) Similar to B, we don't know whether or not they will approve the courses or not...

Reason I missed this question:

I misread the stimulus and thought the first sentence said New course approved next year -> Committee received AND Dean Wilson received. Skipped this and came back and did not catch my reading mistake. When coming back to skipped questions, need to read the stimulus carefully for each and every word... Can't assume my first read was correct.

Hi @,

Sorry, but due to PDF restrictions that LSAC requires, we won't be able edit the PrepTest PDF to put all Logic Games in one PDF.

You can, however, download a PDF with a maximum of 50 games for each Problem Set.

If you aren't familiar with the custom Problem Set interface, here are more detailed instructions on how to do this:

Navigate to Problem Sets.

Filter PrepTests to show

Filter Sections to LG

Filter tags by tapping (optional)

Tap the plus icon at the leftmost column to add up to 50 games

Tap on "Create Problem Set with ... questions" located at the bottom of the page

Tap on "Printable" followed by the download button to download the PDF.

See GIF below:

I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi @,

The “Passage” or “Game” or “Section” difficulty is an average of the individual questions’ difficulty that make up the “Passage” or “Game” or “Section”. The question difficulty is referring to the difficulty of the individual questions within the section itself.

Hi @,

Problem Sets will allow you to take single sections (LR, RC, LG) from any PrepTest that was ever published.

If you aren't familiar with the custom problem set interface, here are more detailed instructions on how to do this:

Navigate to Problem Sets.

Filter PrepTests to show

Filter Sections (LG, RC, or LR)

Filter tags by tapping (optional)

Filter further by typing keywords like "pt36" (optional)

Tap the plus icon at the leftmost column to add all the questions, or scroll down and mark 7. the questions you want to include with the Plus icon on the left

Finally, tap on "Create Problem Set with ... questions" located at the bottom of the page

In this example, I created a custom Problem Set for the Logic Game section of PrepTest 59.

I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

You can also navigate to the "next question" by tapping on the question numbers at the bottom of the PrepTest.

If you are using a keyboard, you can also tap the right arrow key to go the next question.

Hi there,

Sorry about that.

I tried to reproduce the issue by taking a Problem Set with our digital tester, but I'm afraid I wasn't able to. The interface was working properly on my end. I am using Google Chrome on Windows.

I want to get to the bottom of this and figure it out, so that it's working on your side too! It sounds like the button icons are not loading on your end. Does the features (submit answers, change time, etc) work when you tap on the boxes? Does it also happen to other PrepTests or Problem Sets?

To prevent possible causes of the issue, you can try using a different web browser. We find Google chrome to work best with our site, but Safari or Firefox works well too.

Let us know how it goes, we are here to help!

Hi! I am working through LG and I'm having issues with "not both" "or" and biconditionals, particularly in the wording of game rules. Is there a list of common game rules that imply "not both"? A list of common game rules that imply the never apart biconditional?

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

"have another question about what JY means by memorizing all the inferences for the logic games. Lets say I memorize all the inferences like he says, the problem I is when test time comes I will be presented with a brand new logic game with a completely different set of inferences than I have memorized. The moment I'm given a new test wouldn't I be starting at square one again? Or isn't it like being asked to memorize a maze in order to find your way around a completely different maze? Am I not understanding something? Is is not so much "memorizing" as it is consciously understanding all of the inferences? Because if I memorize all of the inferences then I can get through the game without even thinking about what I'm doing. Does that make sense? Thanks for your help."

Posting on Behalf of a 7Sage User: Where do I start?

[I am posting on behalf of 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

I've studied the past 2.5 months for an average of a bout 3-4 hours a day. I've finished David M. Killoran's Logic Games Bible, Mike Kim's LSAT trainer, and the Logical reasoning Loophole by Ellen Cassidy. I've gotten to a point where I feel like I can finish LG timed at -1 to -2, but I'd like to get that down to 0 with some practice. Obviously, I'd also like to improve my LR and RC as much as humanly possible. I haven't taken any fully timed LR sections, but I've been -2 to -4 untimed so far. All of this is a long winded way of asking, where do I start? I only have a month and a half until test day, so I can't imagine going over the basics again would be as beneficial as working on timing or the more difficult areas of each section. Advice would be appreciated.

"From 4 Groups Mixed Translations Flashcards, I've been stuck on two problems and I think it comes from a lack of understanding of how Group 3 and Group 4 work.

Not both /S and O is /S -> /O. I intuitively understand this but I don't understand how the rules make this happen. Same goes for None of the M is /D being M -> D. Shouldn't it be /M -> D?

I couldn't find any replies covering this."
