Would mapping the relationships (formal logic) help with answering this question? I am confused as to why B is the necessary assumption.
If a nation becomes a major power then the major powers would still be responsible for making the decisions bc the nation is now a major power... or am I missing something/ bringing in outside information?
I initially chose B but during my blind review changed to D. My thought process:
B uses "enable" which I felt like was a strong assumption to make. I seem to run into this issue alot and second guess the correct answer. How do I fix this 😭.
How can we assume that just because L & N do not agree with her means that they disagree with her?? Does this not contradict polar opposites v. logical opposites?
Also, how are we to know when to when we are using "implicit understanding" and assuming?? Inferring that L & N disagree with her felt like an assumption to me.
When answering method of reasoning questions would context be considered a premise in the answer choices? If not, can you all provide an example of what an answer choice would refer to context as?
I think the issue I am falling into is that because we have to accept some reasonable assumptions I either contemplate every single word or allow too many assumptions. How do I know when I am over scrutinizing answer choices and when it is okay for some of the terms in the answer choices and stimulus to be "loosely related/interchangeable " on these questions and on MSS.
What was the reason you did not label the last sentence the conclusion and the rest of the stimulus the premises? My understanding of the stimulus also labeled the last sentence the conclusion, and the question stem states "scientist's conclusion". by not labeling are you implying that there is no conclusion?
