#help "The conclusion of the argument is most strongly supported if which one of the following is assumed..." Why do I feel like this is a necessary assumption Q yet worded like a sufficient assumption Q??? I'm very confused about this Q type...

It is so weird that the way I look at (B) is that it's ruling out an alternative explanation. I thought that "unusual levels of unrest" could be another cause leading to the "decline and fall of Rome". But it seems to be the same thing as "decline and fall of Rome" right? Also I see why (D)is the ultimate correct answe choice, but (B) under time pressure just seems so cookie-cutter!

Guys, I have now considered it a given that I won't be able to sleep well the night before the test day. Any previous advice on how to sleep tight before the test day would be much appreciated! Also, when is the June test ready for registration?

I surfed around a bit, and according to people's reply on reddit, it's not possible/not allowed. Knew it was too good to be true..

I heard of people taking the July Flex in Asia tho, and it seems their scores were not cancelled or anything.

May Flex 2020.S3.Q22&Q24

This section alone has four weaken questions!!! I don't think i've ever had a section with so many flaw and weaken questions together... anyway, since JY's explanation videos are not available yet, I want to put these confusing ones out here for discussion:

Q22

Premise: (because) if we want to know medieval epi includes some claims, we just ask whether any epi believe it. If they did, then it is part of medieval epi; if they didn't then the opposite is part of medieval epi.

Conclusion: The solution to define medieval epistemology simply as the epistemological beliefs of the medieval epistemologists.

The correct AC is E, however I feel like E is weakening the premise. since we're supposed to weaken the support in this type of questions, I'm not sure E does that and also this argument feels like circular reasoning to me. Please feel free to point out any problems in my breakdown of the argument.

Q24

premise: if pollen from a drug-producing crop flies into a nearby non-drug-producing crop of the same species, the drug could fertilize and turn it into a drug-producing crop.

conclusion: genetically engineered crop raises the possibility that drug will end up in the general food supply.

I chose E for this question, becuz i think E provides that even though X happens, doesn't mean Y will necessarily ensue (X, not Y).

Similar to Q22, I find the correct answer choice D to weaken the premise, instead of the support.

@ This is a very quick way to get over Q14 & thanks again for taking the time to explain it! I think this is the first time I learned about this method, since JY doesn't use it at all... I'm really surprised how efficient this is! Thank you!

@ I took the test last week. Let me know which questions you need explanations on and I can do my best to explain. I'm writing the Nov test too

For Section 2 LG #3, could you go through how you solved it? I missed 15,16,17 when I took the test, but then when I went to review I got them correct but I'm still feeling like I have a loose understanding of this game. Is it an In/Out? with repeating elements? I'm definitely missing some inferences! I'm sitting for the NOV test and this has me spooked!

Here's game three. Let me know if you guys have any questions. Hope it helps a bit

@ @ @

@ thank you so much the explanation helped a lot. However I didn't quite follow the first method you mentioned for Q14, where you said to look for the ones that could cause trouble... it'd be great if you could pinpoint that link! Thank you!

PT7.S1.Q24 - Many major scientific discoveries

Hi everyone, just want to confirm the validity of the answer choices. I find this question confusing, even though I can see (A) is the best AC.

The breakdown of the core is:

ignore anything not directly related to the funded research ——> serendipity is no longer a part of scientific discovery

I can eliminate B,D,E on first read, and after looking into (A), it's essentially saying: directly related——> purposefully seek(no serendipity)

So the conclusion of the argument can go like: ignore anything not directly related to the funded research——>focus on only the directly related stuff——>purposefully seek(no serendipity)——>serendipity is no longer a part of scientific discovery Correct?

However, I still feel like (A) is just the contrapositive of the conclusion! If so, does it work for necessary assumption questions to use contrapositives as the bridge?

Also, is (C) wrong because "personally prefer" is a big stretch?

Thanks a lot!

What happened to the old blind review option?

Hey guys,

I think the previous BR page where you can type in your answers using keyboard instead of clicking each one, is gone??

I do think that was a much more efficient way to do BR. But now the only way to BR seems inside the same single PT page?

Can we have the old system back?? Thanks a lot.

Morning stress for night owls

Hi peeps, I've been having big fluctuations in my PT performance. I'm a night owl, and have been forcing myself to get up early (and go to bed earlier) to start doing tests from 9:30am. I've also done tests in the afternoon, when I'm less stressed and more awake, the highest and lowest difference would be 165-153. I feel that even though I can get up even earlier in the morning and prepare for the test, the general stress I feel in the morning is just much worse. (I guess morning isn't really for me.) How can I manage/control my mornings better as a night owl?

@ understanding what you can and cannot control helped me relax, sleep, and stay calm. You have studied hard, put in the work, and exhausted yourself preparing for this exam; you've done all you can control.

The content on the exam is out of your control. While uncertainty is nerve-wracking, you have taken the steps necessary within your control to prepare. You are not simply taking the LSAT tomorrow, you are attacking it. You've studied and created strategies to set the conditions for yourself to win. While you don't know the exact questions you're going to see, you are taking the test on your terms thanks to the preparation, not the LSATs. You're well prepared and should be confident in your preparation and yourself. You can do this.

This is so great. Really appreciate these kind words!

LR not improving anymore

I started studying for the LSAT in May with about 7 wrong on per LR section, and 10 wrong on RC, and 7 for LG. My scores became consistent in the lower 160s since late June. Now I'm in the mid160s, with RC and LG visibly improving, but LR unchanged (5-7 wrong per section). I finished 7Sage CC in August, and really liked the courses. But it seems that my LR skills haven't improved at all? I'm shocked to learn that, but I only have about 4 weeks left for my first LSAT. I'm considering postponing the test, because I don't think I can hit the 170s within the next month...

I have looked through earlier posts on similar issue, but haven't seen a similar situation. Any advice, experience and good tips would be much appreciated! Should I go back to the LR CC? Should I look for a tutor, etc..?

(I have read the LSAT trainer, Manhattan prep LR, but haven't done any drilling for LR. I always have 2-3 wrong per section due to mis-reading: simply pressed for time, trying to read faster.)

Confirm action

Are you sure?
