My test got terminated right before the last section as I was accused of cheating. They stated multiple reasons

Someone rang my doorbell 3 times during the beginning of Section 2 and then left, I went out during my break to get the letter they left behind and let my cat inside. They then accused me of talking to someone at the door, I promptly explained what happened and then they said:

I went to the bathroom twice, once during section 1 and once during section 3, and they said that was not permitted. I went to the bathroom 4 times during the June Flex exam and wasn't given any problems. I pee a lot when nervous lol. And when I asked why they didn’t say that they first time they said they allowed me to break the rules the first time and let it slide.

I'm just beyond frustrated........ after being on the phone with LSAC, then proctorU, then LSAC, LSAC told me I should consider myself lucky that they're even letting me rewrite Oct 21..... Feeling a tad deflated but what can ya do... just sharing my grievances with you guys.

***RC Help!!!!!!***

Help!!! RC is by far my WORST section. I am consistently missing -12/13 on each practice section I complete. While I am reading, I try to ask myself what each paragraph is about. Once I'm done reading and it's time to go to the questions, I realize that nothing I have read has stuck with me, forcing me to go back to the passage multiple times. I, then, consistently get multiple questions wrong based on the fact that I don't have great RC reading strategies and can't visualize or condense the information I have read into the important things I should know before going to the questions. Does anyone else have any tips on how to focus more on understanding the passage before even getting to the questions and still being in the time limit? I also have decided I'm probably going to end up skipping one passage as a whole on the exam, so I'm thinking I'll have roughly ~12 minutes on each of the other 3 passages. Any help would be soooo greatly appreciated!

General Principle

#help

What exactly does general principle mean? I see it constantly throughout the logical reasoning answer choices. Very rarely is it included in the actual right answer, but I would love to have a better understanding of the term and what would constitute a general principle, so that I can eliminate the answer choices more quickly. I have a basic understanding, but I feel like it is an ambiguous phrase for me at this point, therefore, when I see in the answer choices, I have to take unnecessary time to rule it out.

I took my first PT after finishing the course and scored a 153. I am taking a week off to go over my weaknesses by watching the lessons and practice Q's all over again. Plus drilling an addtl 20 Q's for each weakness. What kind of progress should I expect on my next PT? Or does it vary from person to person? So far I am getting 18/20 19/20 on my drills. I don't want to get discouraged so I am preparing myself for what would be a normal improvement from PT to PT. I kind of feel that doing good with my drills and reviewing all my lessons I could make a 163 on my next PT but that's impossible right? xD

If anyone can share their experience from their PT progress I would appreciate it!

In writing my Why x essays, is it okay to spell out the school a few times but also use their initials in some sentences? Or better to be consistent? For example Boston University vs. BU. It feels repetitive and like a waste of space to keep typing out Boston University, but don't want it to be informal.

Hi guys,

I hope you’re all doing well to crush the LSAT!

I’ve got a question in regards to applications. I’m from Canada and planning to apply for law schools in the states. With most Canadian law schools their deadline is November 1st! As for the American law schools, they have different deadlines - mostly in February, march 2022 onwards. Can I still write the LSAT in January and have a chance to get in for 2022? I am kind of confused with how the American applications work?

Hi guys,

I'm really having a difficult time seeing why B would not be the right answer. B seems to be describing that it is for the government's own sake to respect the rights of citizens, which is exactly what the Policy Advisor is saying in the first sentence. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi all,

I hope everyone's law school applications are going well. I'm wishing everyone all the good luck.

While I know at this point is out of my control, I'm trying to understand if I would classify as a splitter at some of the T14 law schools - mainly HYS - and understand where I stand this cycle.

My LSAC GPA is 3.86 (which hovers between the 25th - 50th percentile for the top schools, below the 25th percentile for YLS) and my LSAT score is at/above the 75th percentile for all of these schools. I'm trying to understand which of these schools I should consider a stretch vs. a target.

Any/all thoughts are welcome and helpful. Thank you.

What is the 10 minute break like? Do I have to keep the camera facing me as I go get myself a snack and stretch? I live in a studio so everything is one room except for the bathroom. Am I allowed to go into the bathroom? Thanks!!!!!!

I have been struggling in the LR section, especially in the middle to end of the section. After question 14/15, I tend to get mostly all the questions wrong getting about -10 to -12 wrong in this section. I really hope to improve at this section by the NOV 2021 LSAT. If anyone is kind enough to tutor me for about 3-4 hours a week it would be greatly appreciated. I can compensate you for the hours! I am looking to score in the high 150s, at best a 160. My LG is my strongest section as I occasionally only get about -2 or -3 wrong. I have decided not to prepare as much for the RC with the limited time I have as I feel LG would be easier to improve in the coming weeks. I am looking to get down to -5 or -6 on the LR. Let me know if anyone is able to tutor!! It would be very much appreciated.

Hi all!

For LSAT addendum,

I want to say at the end (in 3-4 sentences) that I will grow and discuss how I'd prepare in the 6-10 months leading up to the first day of law school. Is this unnecessary, bad idea? Do you think it'll hurt? The addendum is about 2/3 of a page without this language.

2

I have many schools on my list for which I'll be below median for both GPA and Addendum.

GPA by .1 to .3 points. LSAT by 8 to 12 points.

Would it seem too desperate to apply very very early? I have a friend who went to HLS who recommends that I apply asap.

He believes that I have a decent shot due to my unique story.

I can take LSAT once or twice more time but I dont think the score will improve by much. I'm about in the middle of my PT averages. If anything I'm going to try to take the LSAT really late in the cycle if I'm on the waitlist. Otherwise I'll reapply next cycle with, hopefully, a better LSAT.

I appreciate all your thoughts and input.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and respond.

My GPA is lower than the median GPA for the school that I want to go to, so I wanted to apply early decision to increase my chance of admission. However, I am taking the November LSAT so my application will be submitted before I get to see my score. My practice tests have been around the range that I would like to have for applying and is close to the school's 75th percentile score. However, I know anything can happen on test day and I'm not sure if this would be the best decision. Is this a good idea/is anyone else doing this?

I am taking the LSAT in a approximately three months. Anyone have any suggestions for how can go through the course a little quicker but efficiently as well? Can I skip parts of the lessons?

143-160

Hi,

I got my results back in September, but I never got the chance to write a post. I wanted to thank all the people who contribute to this community for helping me and others who were/are in my shoes. Also thank you JY for all the videos you made and all the hard work put in here. As the title suggests, I scored a 160. Back in 2019 when I took my first LSAT, I got a 143. My pre-law guidance counselor said most people do do better by more than 3-4 points. I told him I am not most people. I spent all of 2020 isolated in an apartment 7 states away from my friends and family studying so I can come home with a decent score. I returned with a 160. My strength is logic games; I usually only get 1-3 wrong on every section. Although most people do not have the luxury of total isolation, just make sure you are being true to yourself when you study. Your score will reflect how much work and effort you put in. Keep pushing, grinding, and making your dreams come true. If you need some advice DM me or reply to this post.

Thank you :)

After reviewing answer choice E, I can see how it strongly weakens the argument, but I'm a little confused why answer choice C couldn't be a correct choice as well. If the number of people competing for the elected position isn't more when the pay is high vs when the pay is lower, isn't that enough to prove that these people are not doing it for the purposes of money?

Hello comrades in misery! My name is Joey and I've been studying for the LSAT for over a year now. I've managed to score consistently in the mid-160's, but haven't been able to get close enough to 170 to feel comfortable going into the exam in a few weeks.

Brief rundown of my skill progression: I legitimately could not do logic games, timed or untimed, to save my life until a few months ago. I studied for most of 2020 and quickly realized LR and RC were my strong suits; I was always -2 or -3 on LR and -1 or -2 on RC. The games, however, were impossible (-10 to -15). Toward the end of 2020 I decided to completely take a break from studying for 4 months. Upon returning to studying, I became near perfect in Logic Games! Finally, I thought, that elusive 170+ was in reach... but that was not the case. In the time I took off from studying and the extra time upon returning devoted to LG, my LR skills significantly atrophied. I've been scoring consistently -4 to -8 on both LR sections of PTs for the last month and a half, and its been the most soul-crushing experience trying to figure out why what appeared to be a natural aptitude for me (and certainly is; I'm a bookworm and political theory major who gets unusually excited by a well-crafted sentence) has become the main thing stopping me from getting to where I need to be.

SO, AT MY ROPE'S END, I'M CALLING UPON THE COMMUNITY HERE FOR HELP. IF ANY 170+ SCORERS (OR EVEN VERY HIGH 160'S) WITH A PARTICULAR STRENGTH IN LR IS WILLING AND ABLE TO OFFER TWO TO THREE HOURS A WEEK BEFORE THE NOVEMBER TEST TO HELP A GUY OUT, I AM WILLING TO COMPENSATE YOU FOR YOUR TIME (WE CAN DISCUSS WHAT IS ACCEPTABLE PRIVATELY)

Being a lawyer is an ambition of mine for intellectual reasons, but also for personal and familial ones. A little help- even to see how one of you thinks, how you approach specific question types- just might be the key to helping me get where I need to be to realize my goals. As a quick remedy, if anybody has any FLAW question strategies, drop 'em in the comments!

Much love to you all (and sorry for the long note),

Joey R.

Hi all!

Looking to hear some info from other Ontario applicants! I know the last LSAT accepted by most schools is in January, and there are seemingly different opinions on waiting until then based on a significant amount of offers going out in Nov/Dec.

I personally know 3 people who wrote in January (none of them had widely high LSAT scores either!), who were accepted for that coming September to one or multiple schools. It seems that the January administration is becoming more and more acceptable for applicants and so I am interested in hearing the perspectives of others as I contemplate moving my November exam to get that extra month or two of practice!
