When do admissions take holiday?

Hi, I'm wondering when admission officers take their Christmas Break (do they have new years break too?), because I don't know if I should hand in my apps NOW or write an optional statement and send it in next week....

Send it in as soon as possible so that your name is higher on the list. That doesn't mean you should send it in right now, though. If your optional statement will make your application stronger, make sure to include it.

I agree with 99th. If you think your optional statement could really help you, then just wait until you write up a good one to submit.

And from the few schools I've seen so far (and this may be across most, if not all schools) is that they are on holiday break from the 22nd to the 1st, and they resume the 2nd. At least that's what I've seen from Michigan and GULC so far, haven't checked others.
