conditional translation

hihihi9993hihihi9993 Member

Can someone translate "No H is not A" for me?

Is it H -> A? (I tried to understand the sentence, rather than using the conditional rules)
Can someone explain this in detail using the conditional rule?

    Your translation is correct. The double negatives cancel.

    Using Lawgic rules...

    Conditional Group: 2 (No) negate necessary
    Idea 1: H
    Idea 2: /A
    Translation: H->A or /A->/H

    To echo @NotMyName, "no" is negate necessary, and "not" is clearly a negation. So technically, you'd translate that into /A --> /H. The contrapositive of that is H --> A.

    If I think about the negations as "cancelling each other out", I'm prone to making errors. Idk why because it's simple, but I prefer to write out the translation with both negations first.
