Hypothetical question: Would you rather be a run of the mill student at HYS or one of the top students at a lower t-13 school? Why?

Law school is more than exam performance. There are many students who are not on law review and aren't setting the curve on every test who may be able to get more out of their education through experiential learning opportunities like clinics. To answer your hypothetical, I would rather feel like I was thriving and getting the most out of my education. HYS has the prestige and expands options post-graduation, so I would choose to go there and wouldn't worry about the competition. Instead, I would focus on making the most out of my time in school. Also I don't think that the average "run of the mill" student at HYS would automatically be a top performer elsewhere. It all depends on the work you put in, and people at lower t14 schools work like crazy.
