Just a general question about NA question. What clues/cues do some of you have to help you determine from the get go if you need to bridge or find a shield answer? I notice I usually freak out in some of these situations. Any insight i deeply appreciated.

With NA it's typically difficult to anticipate which one you'll get.
However if you notice that the conclusion introduces a new element that is obviously un-connected from the premises then that's a fairly big hint you are looking for a bridging answer.
Just being aware that both exist should serve you well.
I feel like first I try to just see if I bridge any ideas together, but if I am not seeing even a teeny tiny bit jump...then I just start negating. I feel like I have really improved on NA after just using the negating technique.
