Is it important to list all information under the "Education" section of LSAC application?

For example, major, GPA, rank?

Schools have our transcripts anyway. And I believe I was told by one law school admissions office that it didn't matter to them. But do any schools penalize you for not filling this section out in full? I don't have my transcripts in front of me and don't remember my GPA or have any clue as to my rank in my class.

Your transcripts and stats appear in a separate PDF document from the electronic application which contains these questions, your resume, and your writing. If the reader has two screens with both documents open while reviewing, it doesn't matter. Otherwise, it may save the reader from having to flip from document to document to see this information. If your school doesn't rank, it's fine, but I would try to fill in as much information as possible.
