Can someone please explain to me how we can automatically make the inference that M cannot go into 3, when it appears M is also associated with Speech as well as honors and Speech appears to have no restrictions for table 3 ?!?! So Shouldn’t this open the possibility of M being able to be in table 3 as well, even though the rules declare that all variable associated with Honors be in tables 1 and 2 ?!?!?

Hey Ashley, it is confusing and I know the exact game you're talking about but think about it this way. M has honors (yes, it's true that M has speech as well but that is not irrelevant here.. the governing rule that honors must be relegated to groups one and two takes precedent here.

Imagine this real world example: You have 5 friends, A, B, C, D and E. A, B and D have all passed Math class. D and E have been suspended for bad behavior. Your mother tells you, no one who was suspended for bad behavior can come over for a sleep over. Now imagine the reaction your mother would have if you protested by saying, "But mom, D also passed Math class!" While, that is true, it is also irrelevant to the 'rule'; the fact is, things can have multiple attributes, if one of those attributes satisfy a sufficient condition (having honors), then that sufficient condition triggers and the associated necessary condition must be accommodated (group one or two, aka not group 3).

Must be False and Must be True questions will sometimes exploit this psychological trap by throwing down irrelevant information to obfuscate the conditional relationship.
