Guidance with assumption questions?

For whatever reason I'm really bad at mid-level assumption questions, like "what follows if this is assumed."

Does anyone have any advice?

I can't really tailor a good advise unless you provide more details about what you know of such a question type... Moreover, I can't give you a generic response either because there are different types of assumptions and the "what follows if this is assumed" is very broad and vague (and also off the mark to be an assumption question type...).
