DS: when schools don't give a suggested length

It seems like the (informal) default recommendation is ~1 page double-spaced. Is it OK to be closer to 1.5 or 1.75 pages?

How long is your personal Statement? Usually 2 page max double spaced.

I wouldn’t make my DS over 1 page for the sake of brevity for the reader.

If you look at https://7sage.com/admissions/lesson/application-requirements-for-top-schools/, you will see that many schools that specify a length for extra optional essays limit them to 1 page or 500 words. There shouldn't be any confusion between your personal statement and any other writing that you submit.
