When a school asks for a list of other schools you are applying to...

Hi everyone,

I'm finishing up a couple of applications today and I noticed that one application gives me an option to list the other law schools I am applying to.

I'm not sure if I should fill this out or not - is there an advantage/disadvantage to doing so?

I've read that question as a yield protection thing. If you're applying to 20 different schools, then it's in their interest to be able to see whether you consider them a safety or a reach school or what. When I have seen this, it has not been optional, but I'd personally have just left blank if given the choice.

Yeah, definitely sounds like a yield protection thing. I'm not really familiar, but if it is optional I just can't see how it is going to help. I guess it depends on your stats and the school you're applying to.
