I'm nervous of being ready in time for the October LSAT, but want to ensure I get my test scores in early enough in the admissions cycle. I'm aiming for 170 - still need to get faster on LG and RC.

Personally, I wouldn’t sign up until you are within a few points or so of your target score. Typically the LSAT registration is about 6 weeks in advance. With continuous study in effort you should be able to get close to the target score or exceeding it. This is great if you lose a few points due to test day nerves. So if your goal is a 170 I wouldn’t sign up until you are consistently averaging at least 168 over 5 or more LSATs.
