Getting past the "what the hell was I thinking?" stage

I took PT 52 yesterday, and I BR over the past two days. One thing that I notice about my PTs (I have taken 35-52), is that half of my wrong answers (and like 99% of the ones I miss that I don't mark for BR) are just complete brain fart mistakes. Did anyone else go through this phase? How did you fix it?

Brain farts aren't brain farts if they happen regularly. The mere knowledge of how to do something means nothing if you can't execute when called upon, so you'd better figure out how you managed to hang yourself in this instance despite (theoretically) knowing better. De-emphasizing the mistake as 'stupid' or 'dumb' is literally the worst thing you can do in this case, because it prevents you from doing exactly that.

As for how to do that - just answer your own question. What the hell WERE you thinking? And what led you down that path? Identify and fix. No magic bullet.
