I think that would depend on where you see yourself practicing law and how much the out of state tuition is. From my understanding, state schools usually have good regional pull but may have a smaller reach farther outside the state. For example, I'm applying to a couple state schools but I checked their employment data and spoke to some students because I can see that although it's a state school, I still have opportunities in DC. And I can always return to my home state down the road.
