You should talk to Berkeley about your financial predicament. If I were you, I would go to Berkeley regardless. Taking on debt is not the end of the world if you have access to a Big Law job or a decent LRAP upon graduation.

Especially with Berkeley getting Dean Cherminsky, a prominent expert in Constitutional Law, I don't see Berkely going down any time soon. This dean was responsible for UCI's high clerkship numbers and should bring his connections with judges to Berkeley.

Yep out of where I've heard back from so far my top choices are NYU and Berkeley, especially since I'm interested in public interest. As a native Californian Berkeley holds some extra sway though, even if it's slightly lower in the rankings :)
For anyone still waiting on Berkeley, someone on reddit said they called admissions and were told that they were planning to have all their decisions out by the end of this week.
