Hey guys, has anyone been successful in obtaining a deferral request and can share some advice about writing the request letter? I'm applying for personal reasons, not academic or professional ones, if that matters.

@"Nilesh S" based of that I'd be better off at BC. They gave me75k compared to GWU with the 60k. I also got 90k from WUSTL, but I'm not sure I want to practice in that region.

The way I understand waitlists for top schools (currently on Stanford's), is that there is no deferral option; either you go this year or you'd have to decline and reapply.
It would be a good idea to contact the schools you're interested in and ask admissions. In Canada, you would need to provide a good reason for deferral and they may not even allow it.
