    Check out "The Concise Canadian Writer's Handbook" in its second edition there is a chapter called "Understanding Sentences" (page 57 to page 84) which I found it super helpful as an ESL student. They teach the book in my college

    Not a complete grammar book, but I really like Elements of Style by William Strunk. It talks about embedded clauses, pronoun/referential phrasing.
