That is on par with some T13 schools (Berkeley about 5,500, Columbia about 5,800, Michigan about 5,300, Duke about 4,800), and easily exceeds a good number of its Californian competitors (USC about 4,800, Loyola about 3,300, Southwestern about 1,800). Moreover, UCLA's situated in southern California too. I have no idea what more they could possibly want in terms of diversity.
