    The main conclusion is located in the first sentence and there's a lot of stuff that comes after it, but they are all premises. The first half of the first sentence is a premise as well and all support the point that multinational companies cannot be relied upon to reform the world's food-distribution system.

    Now why is that? 1.) they operate to maximize profit and that depends on a stable economic environment that discourages change.

    In the middle, the author does concede a point: sometimes these multi-national companies act to enact change, but these are exceptions to the general rule.
