I'm taking the LSAT at home for the first time (had a terrible in-person experience so trying this), but I was wondering if anyone with a gaming PC setup has been dinged for having multiple monitors, mic arms, etc.

I've made a second setup with just a laptop, XL gaming pad, and additional monitor as my "testing zone" but was wondering if secondary monitors/graphic mousepads are dinged and not allowed. Should I keep it to just the laptop and mouse?

Would love to hear about other ppl's experiences testing at home and how I can optimize my setup for seamless testing without having to rework my desk the day of.

I think it really depends on the proctor you have. I simply had to cover my extra screens with a blanket and make sure they were unplugged.

I wouldn't risk it. When I tested remotely, they had an issue with everything from my bachelors / masters degrees on my wall to the length of my fingernails :))

as others are saying, laptop and mouse only. mousepads are fine generally, you just probably have to show them underneath it. the more simple the setup, the less you have to worry about removing or covering. good luck! :)

  • Yeah you are better off with just the laptop and mouse they made me take the additional monitor off and put it behind me.

I took the test in person last week, but for the writing section at home, it would not let me have any of my external monitors hooked up. I ended up just using a laptop, without my keyboard or mouse, in my kid's room to not set off any alarms about the extra screens sitting around me in my normal setup.
