🙃 Confused

Timeline Confusion

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying for law school this upcoming fall, so fall of 2026 with the hopes of starting law school in 2027. When do you think I should aim to take my first lsat? I began studying in December, my diagnostic was a 160 and I am aiming for around a 168! I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about taking in in April vs. June, with some saying April is too early to take one, but others saying June is too late for a first attempt. Any advice anyone has on this would be super helpful :)

Hey, wouldn't you be late to apply for fall 26 if you take the LSAT in April??

I started studying last spring part-time and started studying full-time in September taking my first LSAT in january

But I'm giving myself ample time since I'm an anxious test taker and will definitely have to retake it ahah

Honestly wish I was in your position. April would be good to get a head start so you don't have to worry about studying for it while working on apps. If need be you could take in June or September, but hopefully you would have smashed the 168 barrier by then. All the best! Your diagnostic to goal score is def achievable in your timeline!
