I just took a preptest without the experimental and scored a 164. Clearly, I've improved on LR. But last week, I got a -3 on RC in a preptest. I haven't scored a -10 in a really long time, although admittedly, my RC is much more susceptible to fluctuating (2 weeks ago it was a -7 PT). I don't know what to do. It is so much harder to consistently improve in RC!!

Side note, but honestly, I gave up halfway through BR for RC, so that 170 isn't even indicative of a true BR. I am stuck in the 165ish area despite my BR getting in the 170s sometimes. What do I do??

When you PT you should do the experimental as well. Most of the questions you'll encounter in there are questions you'd see anyway, so the extra reps will be very helpful. Also that way you'll be more prepared for the real exam stamina-wise when you'll actually have to do 4 sections.

I think it’s mostly just reps, that way you get to be more intuitive about RC in general. Obviously the BR is going to help and the explanation videos can be good too for some passive learning. At least for me, the things I have found to be most fruitful are repetition and if I begin to plateau then trying do so some research about what could be wrong about my approach.

I think it’s also important to remember with RC that it’s essentially just long form LR, which for you, should indicate that it’s a fatigue problem, no?

@JosephHindle Maybe? But I find that sometimes I will be able to answer a passage easily and understand everything but other times I won't. Yet it's not like the sections are significantly different from each other...

@ktacklesthelsat Interesting. Is it specific types of passages (ie. Science, or Law or whatever) that you are doing worse on?

@JosephHindle ehh not really? Sometimes art is my worst, sometimes science, sometimes law... i can't spot a pattern

I think that RC is just one of those things that you need to grind. Do more and your baseline will start to get better. Also, don't skip on review. That's where you put the work in so that you perform when timed.
